Product Description

It's hard to listen to your friends teaching you how to gym climb when your feet feel scrunched worse than a ballerina's. Black Diamond's Momentum Climbing Shoe balances comfort with performance so you can learn how to climb comfortably. Most climbing shoes opt for leather or synthetic leather uppers to keep durable throughout your rocky adventures. Black Diamond, on the other hand, made this shoe's upper out of a unique knit that enhances breathability without hindering overall durability. This enhanced breathability also decreases the foul smells that standard leather climbing shoes excrete in your car, closet, or wherever you store your climbing shoes. Since this isn't a leather or synthetic leather climbing shoe, the Momentum shouldn't stretch as much as usual climbing shoes, and if this is your first pair of climbing shoes, you might want to consider getting this pair in your street shoe size even though your friends are telling you to size down. The NeoFriction rubber sole is also unique in that it's molded-as opposed to the usual cutting from one sheet of rubber-to the shoe in order to increase longevity and ensure traction on greasy, plastic footholds.

Features:
Comfortable climbing shoe for beginners
Unique knit upper enhances breathability and decreases stretch
NeoFriection rubber molded onto upper for long-lasting traction
Flat last and low asymmetry assures all-day comfort

Best entry level shoe!!
I got these to use in the gym and they don’t disappoint. Took them outside a coupe of times and they work great but typically need a more aggressive climbing shoe. Great entry level shoe and great for the gym.

Great Gym shoe!
I’ve had no complaints with these shoes in the 7 months I’ve owned them. Great for chill sessions in the gym at or on the crag. Rubber has remained stiff and wear has been slight. Great shoe for anyone who is looking into starting out. These have great comfort while maintaining all the functionality a climbing shoe needs.

Great all day shoe
Bought this for the all day multi-pitch stuff. Great for this, sticky yet comfortable. I have sweaty feet and this breaths well. Sole remains stiff, even after extensive use. So don't expect them to be a good vert shoe eventually.
Size runs big when compared to Euro brands.

Good Starter shoe
I bought them 2 months ago.

As a beginner climber these shoes are great. The rubber sticks very well and they are very comfortable and seem to perform well both in the gym and outside. They are also very well priced.

The only strange quirk I've come across is that they tend to be very tight at the start of a session and then they loosen up towards the end of a long session (3+ hours...

Incredibly comfortable gym shoe
After 10 months of climbing on my Momentums, I am happy to give them a 5 star review. I only wear them indoors, and have other shoes I feel would hold up better to outdoor climbing. They are my everyday gym shoe.

They fit true to size, and edge better than expected on tiny indoor holds, but also smear well when needed. All that said, I still can't get over how comfortable they are. I use a pair of BD Focus shoes when I need just a bit more aggressive shoe, and while those are comfortable, the comfort between the Momentum and Focus is a day and night.

At their price point I have zero hesitation recommending them to someone looking for an everyday gym shoe.

Decent
This is a decent shoe. Have been climbing hard in it for about a month, good for small holds and smears. The shoes are wearing out faster than I would like, which prevents me from giving a higher rating.
