I take weekly rides from 15 to 20 or so miles. I needed to replace the helmet I bought with my last bike in 2004. This one seems to be a good compromise between safety and too expensive. (As we used to say about motorcycle helmets, you can use a $20 helmet if you have a $20 head.)
The Solstice is well-designed and looks good. It's as comfortable to wear as any helmet is likely to be. The suspension system is simple, in the sense that it has as few straps and parts as possible. The downside is that the fewer number of adjustment points makes it just a bit complicated to get the fit right. It's taken me a few tries. I'd still recommend this helmet, just make sure you experiment with the suspension system before your first big ride.
