I've shot pump guns for 50 + years and now that I'm retired I have time for the clay sports. Really had some good mentors learning the trap field and bought a used, beautiful Browning BT-99 Plus--wow what a nice shoot. Then I tried skeet & sporting clay's and was hooked on shooting 2 shots . I now needed a 2 shot gun. After evaluating my needs as to the sports that I wanted to shoot, I looked at semi-Auto's for 5 weeks and held everything I could and shot a few friends guns at the range. Then the maintenance description became an issue on labor and my eye went to the Over-Under's. Ta Daaaa- that was the answer. Over-Under's offer a great 2 shot performance and low maintenance and a higher degree of safety ..... simple if it's open- IT'S SAFE !!
I again looked at everything and talked to everyone till the Browning Citori CXT was handed to me and I fell in love. Browning's description saying " it was designed to shoot all the clay sports" was right on - REALLY ! I use the same gun to shoot them all. I now view skeet & trap as practice for sporting clay's. I'm not sore or tired after shooting @ 100+ rounds and she's ready for more. A loving 3 minute wipe down and quick pull-thru with the snake and into the safe she goes, ready for the next trip to the range. Please Note; any gun right out of the box does not exactly fit everyone! I hesitantly and loving did do a little custom work the the top of the comb with my belt sander to cut a notch to better allow my eye to look down the rail better. After 4 (test and sand a little more) shoots it was perfectly aliened with my eye, added some walnut stain and 3 gloss coats of polyurethane and WOW what a fun gun! I get a lot of compliments and impressive customization comments ! I have created interest and I might be in the custom business soon---LOL !!! If you can't CLEARLY see that... I LOVE THIS CITORI CXT ...then you must be an ILLEGAL immigrant and can't buy a firearm anyway so go back to your roots !
