I like this knife. I keep it on my desk for letter opening, and small tasks that arise. It was razor sharp out of the box. I like that in a knife company. Doing things right the first time, like delivering a sharp knife is always appreciated.
This knife is perfect for a what I call a wallet knife (a knife that can fit in your wallet) it's really sharp out of the box but it has a weird sharpen it don't really ketch your skin and cut it but other stuff man dose it cut it up it's almost the same size a 2 3/4 shotgun shell closed
I've been wanting a small and light-weight pocket knife to have handy for opening packages, etc. and this is absolutely perfect. The quality and precision of this "work of art" is fantastic and I am completely satisfied. I've used it many times, yet the blade still seems like new so I'm estimating it to have extended durability.
I purchased three 379 knives for gifts. The knives were given ... but I was displeased with the black-blue plastic handles when "woodgrain" is stated (and shown) in your catalog. The plastic (?) might last longer than the wood, but is never as nice.
I love this knife! I was given the 379 "collectors edition" by my grandfather over 10 years ago. I love how versatile it is and how easily it takes an edge. I have used this little knife fore everything from woodwork, to mechanic work and i use it often for skinning and butchering game. The only call out that i have is that it requires resharpening more thatn i would like to. Especially when you have been cutting things like cordage. But it will always sharpen right back up! Ive probably taken a full 1/8" off of the blade over the last decade. But with full disclosure i commonly use it for things i shouldnt. Like cutting wiring.
This knife is a great everyday knife. This little knife is great for any job. I had my knife about a mouth now and it still has a sharp blade on it. It will stay sharp as long as you dont mis use it. Thank you Buck! Next one i want to get is the realtree xtreme camo Buck knife. Yeee yee.
