We had it at 200 yards on the head of a steel torso target. We would shoot, see the lights, then hear the impact on the steel. It was a lot of fun. This year I bought two more and we put them on a plate at 100 yards and a torso at 300 yards. We were still able to see the LEDs at 300 yards just fine. They were a great tool in our shooting. When we took all the targets down at the end of the day we noticed the 300 yard Flash Bang had been hit by a 5.56 round. These Target Hit Indicators make it so much easier. With lighter grain bullets sometimes we couldn't see the plate move or hear the impact. The Flash Bang AR500 Steel Target Hit Indicator lights takes out all the guesswork. It is so much fun seeing that light come on at 1200, 1400, at 1900 yards. Great product from Caldwell. One of them has been hit several times and knocked out a couple of the lights, it still works.\r\nIt fell in a puddle at the base of the target after the plate was hit and knocked it off. It lay under water for 1/2 hour in near freezing conditions. I thought \"well so much for that device\". When I \r\ngot to the target the lights were flashing under water, still working! It sat in the bed of my truck (in an ammo can) for several weeks at near zero temps. I brought it inside and when it thawed out it was wet inside but still works. Amazing!\r\nExcellent product. My complaint is that they flash too long after registering a hit. Quick follow up shots are hard to detect as the flasher flashes about 8 times after a hit lasting for a few seconds. We were shooting .22 LR on up to .338 Lapua at 200 yards. The velcro held up extremely well. I attached the flash bang to the top of the steel, which allowed for excellent visibility. This product works like a dream. Very easy to see and makes hitting the steel that much more fun. However (big However) a single bullet of any size can render these things completely inert. We had a .22LR tag the light grid (at 130 yds - subsonic) and it ripped the back open completely rendering this inert.
