Love this harness. This harness fits my pup like a glove and it doesn’t seem to rub her armpits like the other ones we’ve tried before. She’s gotten so many compliments while wearing it and she seems to be enjoying all the attention it’s brought her so far. The only teeny tiny complaint I have is that the front clip seems to slide around so the harness looks and is off centered most of the time. It doesn’t seem to bother my pup as much as it bothers me.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this harness. It fits my pup like a glove. And it’s so cute!
My strong and fast dog seems to find it comfortable and it controls his sudden movements very nicely. It is very useful for when he is tracking something and I need to help find his way back. Or when he goes into a tree.
Bought for my black lab, did the measurements to make sure I bought the right size (force wear runs small on me so I have to buy a size up, but also have bought regular t shirts that I’ve had to size down from carhartt) and my labs chest is in the large size. It ended up being snug on my beagle who is at the top of the medium sizing.
LOVE the way it looks but hate the way it fits.. Fits the dog awkwardly due to something always being loose. Mainly the anterior under the chest strap is always loose since it can’t be adjusted.. Wish the harness would provide a more sturdy fit and a handle at the top to assist jumping into/out the car/truck.
i bought this for my 4 month old blue heeler and this is the only harness that acutally fits her i am so happy i put it on her and she instantly feels so secure in it that she sits nice and pretty with it on and walks wounderful with it on. the clasps are great quality metal i will forever buy this harness.
When I purchased this harness for my bloodhound, I thought it was a good idea as it seem very durable but not even 24 hours later, he had managed to chew straight through it. I am so disappointed as I spent $40 on the harness just to have it gone in such a short time. Expected more from such an well known brand.
We just adopted a 9 year old husky, and he pulls! The first harness that we got (at a pet store) broke on his 2nd day home and he ran away. The "D" rings on them just pulled open. We caught up with him, fortunately! This Carhartt harness is super sturdy. All of the hardware are solid pieces... nothing to break open. All of the straps are beautifully sewn to not come apart.
Like the first harness we tried, this was a little tricky to figure out, but once we got it adjusted to fit him (he's about 60 lbs), it's a breeze to get on.
I have used this harness since my pup was about three months old (he is now 7 months). It is well made and is extremely adjustable to fit him. I usually use it when taking him in the truck so I have some added leverage on him.
I bought a harness from a pet store once and it tore my poor guys under arms up but Carhartt saves the day once again! A Large is a sturdy fit for my American Bulldog Pit mix just needed adjustment from out the box
Great harness however it has a fatal design flaw when used with any of Carhartt leashes. The double d-rings pull the clasp of the leash open if the dog pulls at all. Therefore it must be used with a non-Carhartt leash to be fully trusted. It’d be nice if carhartt would produce a leash with a different type of clasp to be used with this harness.
I love this harness, it has additional padded areas on the straps to distribute pressure. The reflectivity threads are highly visible at night. If your dog pulls hard, the strap buckles do slide slightly over time; not a big deal but it is important to check it periodically to ensure consistent fit. I use it in conjunction with the stretch training leash which is a great combo.
I like the look of this product but I am on my second one in 30 days. The nylon strap wears/tears on the chest area from the buckle. Not sure why but I am trying to make this second one last before I submit again another claim return :(
