The Clam Jason Mitchell Meat Stick Rod is ideal for deadsticking with live bait or heavy search lures. The light tip on this ice fishing rod adds sensitivity, while the heavy backbone provides strength and durability. A high-vis tip allows you to clearly see the rod bend for visual bite detection. Silver frame Dynaflow guides on this deadstick rod lighten the feel of the rod and further improve bite detection. A unique Tack-Grip handle sits above the reel seat to better balance the rod and provide greater finesse and action while deadsticking. Great for the angler running multiple rigs on the ice, the Clam Jason Mitchell Meat Stick Rod features a streamlined design with enhanced strength and sensitivity.

I want to like this rod a bunch, but the top two guides were put on askew from the rest of the guides by varying degrees. The tip was the worse of the two, but fairly easy to adjust by heating it up to loosen the glue. You cannot do this with the next guide because it has a thread wrap, but this is off by ~45 degrees, where the tip was almost a full 90 degrees out of wack.
Overall it is a great rod and I wouldn’t mind having another. Very sensitive and light tip straight into a nice solid backbone. Only thing I don’t like is that the tip flexes a lot when using heavier walleye jigs.
Bought 28M the on December 8th and maybe used it a half dozen times and the tip splintered today. Always keep in a tube in a soft case to protect it. Hope it was just a fluke because I really like the rod. I will be returning it and hope they still have some in stock. Plenty of ice left.
Landed a 52” sturgeon on it the first day I used it! Fought it on the rod for a bit, but hand lined to finish. Was fun catching walleye on it with lighter tackle. I got the 28” and probably should have got a longer one because I mostly fish walleye but it should be killer for when I go for pannies
