I'm 5'6" and about 230#. The cot is a little small for me. It's just a little bit too narrow as I found my elbows often resting on the cold tube edges. I'm not concerned about the strength of the cot though. I just wish it was a little bigger.
Set up and tear down are fairly straightforward with the only somewhat finicky part being the foam pad. Folded up the pad goes on what is the under side of the cot. So the pad has to be removed from under the cross-brace on the center leg assembly and then placed on top for set up and then passed through again for storage. This being my first time using this cot I found it a little quirky to tear down in limited space. I don't think that is a deal-breaker though, just a detail to keep in mind.
If you are taller than me I'd say you may want to search for a longer cot. If you're narrower and shorter than me I'd say you'd have a hard time finding a better cot. I've only slept on it for 3 nights so far so I can't comment on the durability of the foam pad I've seen mentioned in other reviews.
Given size considerations I would not hesitate to recommend the use of this cot.
Very comfortable and surprisingly easy to fold up and store. Feels sturdy and slept like a baby... I feel it is a great product and would recommend to anyone looking to add another sleeping area but doesn’t have room for another bed.
I bought a cot for camping 2-3 years ago. My problem is that I need to replace some of the springs. The mattress also needs the replaced. I have looked on Coleman site for replacement parts but have not found them. Some of the springs have come off and the mattress is torn. The cot is in good shape and very useful as a extra bed. If I can't find more springs then it is no good to use.
Couldn’t ask for a better cot. The spring style backing stretches and gives so you can sleep in any position and still be comfortable. The pad is surprisingly thick and very supportive. The only con is it can be a little wobbly when your moving around. Great buy I would recommend to friends and family.
Bought for guests (children). Sturdy cots. Padding is ok, but I may replace with better ones in the future. Wish Coleman sold matching sheet sets, as its impossible to find the custom size of the padding.
I bought one of these in the 30" by 80" size for a trip to Arizona from Kentucky. I used it for six weeks and had the best sleep in a long time. I went back later in the year and used it again for 4 weeks. Since returning home and sleeping on our foam bed, I am back in the spare bedroom sleeping on it again. No back pain or joint pain now and I need little for covers or pillow.
Definitely a good, sturdy cot for a guy like me who is over 200#. I have three. Never had any issues with wear and tear, and I’ve had mine for over 10 years. Much more comfortable than a military style cot.
We bought 2 of these cots for our grandchildren to sleep on when they spent the night, and the started ripping and falling apart within the thrid time they slept on them. The springs started popping off they tore amnd the velcro that holds them together when they are folded up does not stay on. We bought them because coleman is a good quality brand, but I would not recommend these cots.
