Better than last year’s model. Not sure if it’s the “norm” for USA certified bats, but all else being equal, seems Iike there is no material difference in pop between composite and alloy barrels in 2-piece bats now. Not between Ghost and the Beast Hybrid, which we also have. Also not between Louisville Select and Prime for those who are curious. Our team recently played in a Perfect Game tourney where not 1.2 bats are allowed, and most teams opted for pre 2018 green and orange Mako bats. I just picked up a USSSA Beast Hybrid and will see how they compare against the Mako bats, since our kids are fast out growing those bats. Hoping for the best.
Bought the 28/18 bat for my 7 year old, he plays peewee kid pitch. He gets hits all the time with this bat, he loves it and it has a great pop on each hit. Easy to adjust with very minimum vibration. We have seen him improve immediately with this bat. Worth what it cost, we did research before the purchase and this bat seem excellent being a two-piece it's just lighter and much better. Thanks Easton.
Got this bat (30/20 for my 9yr old (60”/70lbs) and he has been loving in. Smooth delivery and very balanced. Getting hotter as it gets broken in. Great sound and only vibration is on endcap hits. Nice update over the 2018.
Purchased this bat with a 500 credit from Easton on last year's model that was decertified. This bat has so much more pop than the first year USA bats. My 12 year old loves it. He prefers it over a DiMarini th that I bought him while we were waiting for this one to come out. He has the 30/20. Can't be more happy with the look and power he gets from it. It's also much better on vibration. Highly recommended
First game in the Little League majors this season, my smallish 11 year old, who has never come close to hitting a home run in a game with a USA bat, short hopped the fence on a pitch he had to reach for. Hit another shot to the OF that was caught. Obviously that's a very small sample, but he says the bat feels lighter than his LS 618 Solo 30-19. The Easton he used is a 30-20. Anyway, I just bought one for him and his younger brother (one to share, since they both have the 618 Solo and the pop on that is pretty weak. Also, this bat looks great. 4 kids on his team of 11 have this bat and the exit speed on hits from those kids is noticeably faster than other hits with different bats. I'd say this is worth the investment.
I purchased this bat in January 2019. Unfortunately, I rate this bat as poor. I love and grew up with easton products but these ghost bats do not have the same results as other brands. I will continue to support Easton products with the exception of your bats. Below are several comments of your 2019 ghost x revolution bat: 1)vibration/hand stings 2) ball travel after making contact is poor/ pop 3)bat speed is less than other brands.
So far so good. We got this bat in exchange of our recalled ghost 30/20 from last year and it’s a 180 compared to last years ghost. My son and his teammates have only used it in practice and BP but are loving it. Doesn’t rattle the hands. Our team is big on the Louisville 718 and I’d say this bat is now competing with that bat (in what I see and hear from the boys, ages 10-12 I am very happy that Easton finally made a USA bat that we can now use.
As a little league coach, I've seen all the USA bats over the last 2 years. My 9 yr old son had a 2018 Ghost last spring and it was a little disappointing. Had vibration on mishits and not a ton of pop. The 2019 Ghost Evo has been a big improvement. He has barely any vibration at contact and pop is very solid. Makes a good sound at contact. Great USA bat for 2019!
This bat is the BEST! I would compare it to the Mako. My son loves the balance in the swing. He has been using it for 2 months and absolutely loves it! Easton has outdone themselves with this bat. Especially with the USA restrications, this bat still has some serious pop!!
Brought this back for my son (Twinpower 2 weeks ago and his reaction was priceless.. I have a video. A week later took him to the batting cages. The pop off the bat how lite he said it felt plus the color of the bat simply put it "This Bat is a Work of ART".....
My son used the 2018 ghost x from Easton and liked the bat but had some vibration issues with balls off the end of the bat and near the bottom of the barrel. He just did a demo at Dicks in their new store batting cages with the 2019 orange Ghost X Evolution and was crushing the ball without any sting, big improvement!
This review is more for last year's version of this bat. We purchased this bat for my son's last year of little league. We received the bat in February, and didn't really use heavily until April. By June (right before sectionals) the bat cracked and was unusable. My son complained about the bat all season, saying it was "dead" with no pop. After his bat was unusable for sectionals, he borrowed his friend's Louisville and hit two out-of-the-park homeruns!!! I tried giving Easton another chance, and requested a bbcor bat for the warranty replacement, since we have no use for a little league bat now. I called twice and they wouldn't cave. Very disappointed and we have purchased a few bats from Easton through the years. Never again!
Coming from a 619 Solo, this bat is a step up in terms of feel and performance. This bat has got a ton of attention at winter workouts from the sound of the bat and the scorching line drives it produces for my son. If your kid is a contact hitter with a bit of power your going to see some great results. We have around 10 BP sessions with it and the barrel defiantly opens up and expands the sweet spot. Holding the Ghost X Evo next to a Solo, There is no comparison in terms of barrel size. 29/19 weighs in at 19.5oz and is one of the best balanced bats we have swung. The USA bats really reward the kids who put in BP and work on swing mechanics. Long gone are the days with 8U travel kids hitting 150' check swings with Mako's so people need to just get over it. I think the defensive plays are better now due to the decreased exit velocities. Stronger kids with good mechanics are still hitting the ball hard and using the Ghost X Evo adds a bit of flash to the swing that was missing in the 2018 bats. Great sound, high tech design and one of the smoothest bats in terms of feel. One of the more expensive bats on the market but if you look at the tech that was put into the bat, you will know why.
I bought this bat 29-19 a while ago for my youngest 9y/o son. He loves it. I think it swings better than last year's ghost. He had the 28-18 ghost last year. The re-designed end cap, thinner handle gives it a large sweet spot, definitely less drag and maybe more pop than last year. No USA bat will ever earn a 5* from me. They just don't hit like the bats of yesteryear. This is as close as we'll get.
I got this bat for my son for Christmas and we Love it already. He is 2 weeks into his winter baseball clinic and already you can see that the ball jumps off the bat. He has swung Easton bats for the past few years and this is already his favorite. It's already very noticeable that this year's model has improved the grip and vibration over last year's. The new bat rules for LL has changed the game but this is the best I’ve seen under the new standards.
We have the bat for over a month and have hit with it about twice a week in the the cages but no outside work yet. The Good- Bat has better pop than 2018 model, it is well balanced, Lizzard grip feels good in the hands. The Bad - Bat still stings a lot on mishits. I thought it was only my 10 year old, but i have taken it to the cage myself and have experienced The sting as well.
Overall it is a decent bat but sting makes it only a 3 out of 5 stars.
I bought this for my 12 year old son for Christmas. He has only hit off a tee at our home so far, but I like the pop it has and my son says it feels great. He likes the color scheme as yellow and orange are his 2 favorite colors.
It may be that my son is a year older, but this 2019 model seems to have more pop than the previous model. It also sounds better when the bat connects with the ball. The lizard grip tape they used this year also seems to be an upgrade. The only complaint I have is that there's a rubber sleeve that covers the connection area between the 2 pieces. After a few mis-hits, that comes loose. That was the same issue with the 2018 model. I wish they would come up with a better system. Other bat manufacturers don't seem to have that problem.
Got the new 30/20 Ghost X due to the ban of the grey/yellow 2018 ghost x. This bat is beautiful but looks aren't everything. It has an average size sweet spot that has tremendous pop. The only downfall is if you hit near the end of the bat, it will vibrate your childs hands, make them scream, and the ball will not make it out off the grass in the infield. This bat will make or break a hit. I also purchased the 2018-19 Elevate one piece aluminum, and thoroughly impressed with this bat. Especially after comparing prices. I've been coaching baseball for 20 years and have been through most of the Easton bats. The deadspot kills the review of this bat for me.
Purchased this bat from the voucher, completed the break in process and was impressed with how the ball jumped off the bat. It sounds like a wood bat, but the ball jumped off the bat. looking forward to my son using this in the upcoming season.
We recently bought the new 31” -10 using our Easton credit we obtained when they recalled last years model. My son has hit 250+ balls with it over the last month and it is clear the “pop” of the Ghost composite material is back. Ball comes off the bat with similar energy as the 2017 Ghost model. While the bat actually weighs 22.08 ounces, it is uniformly balanced and feels lighter than the two piece Easton Beast We also have. If you liked the 2017 Ghost, this bat seems identical. So Easton has really figured out how to get the materials right after the USA Baseball rules changes. I would have rated it a 5 star- but we are only a month in.
