Just what I was looking for
I just got this rod three days ago. I used it twice and it seems good for just what I wanted it for. I was looking to throw a half ounce to 3/4 ounce lure and have a lot of action in the rod. I caught a 5 lb striper and it felt great

Good sensitivity and durability
The rod has good sensitivity and durability. I packed 4 Fenwick eagle rods into one small tube for the airplane and even though the guides bent, they went right back into position. The bend of the rod also has a nice parabolic shape to absorb head shakes from the fish. But even though the rod is soft at the end, it still transmits movements at the end of the line. These rods also make very long casts when paired with the right line and baits. They handled steelhead and salmon on Lake Michigan extremely well.

I Definitely Stepped Up My Game
I have a bad Heart. I can’t walk very far. I fish from shore in a Medical Transport Chair. With the 9’6”” Eagle Rod I can deliver line to where the Big Bass and Stripper play.

Wrong rod.
I ordered this rod and then contacted Pure Fishing customer service to ask them to ship this rod to me with handle style B. The rod was shipped with the Michigan style handle instead. I as always in a hurry went ahead and used the rod anyway. The lower half of the rod had no backbone, and the handle too short. I took another broken Fenwick rod and stripped it down to the bare blank with the lower piece of the handle still on it; shimmed it and epoxied it inside the lower half to extend it for more casting torque, and give it much more backbone and a faster action.

In love with rod!
This rod may be listed as a steelhead rod but for me it is the best crappie rod I have ever used for vertical fishing crappie.

heavy duty rod
I bought the Fenwick Eagle Salmon/Steelhead Spin MODEL#EA96M-MS-2 in May 2014 and cough a countless number of kings, stealheads, browns, lakers, bass, musky... couple days after after I bought it, I went over the rod with my car by accident but it only got couple scratches and a dent on the handle, I even bent the eyes of the rod couple time and put them back straight without braking them. I still heavily used it until 2 weeks ago, it broke 23" below the tip while fighting a king. I sadly can't find the receipt so I'm screwed... It was me only rod for 3 years and I go fishing very often mainly at the lower Niagara river (strong current. I really like this rod. I'll get same one ASAP!
