It quickly became my favorite hat I own... I would choose this hat over ten generic whatever-the-hell-brand hats any day of the week. It doesn’t absorb the rain and it’s pretty easy to clean it up quick with a wet microfiber cloth. Totally worth the price. Can’t wait to see what they come out with next. Btw- it is made in Vietnam ...if that matters, get the original tin cloth hat.
A little too low profile, feels more like a hat for jr. I was trying to find a version of the insulated tin foil hat without the insulation. This is not that hat. I think it will work once I cut my hair down but for now it wont fit my big head.
First Impression: A very well made ball cap; high quality materials. Fit Impression: The “cap” portion seems too tall with extra room above the crown. If I push the top of the cap down for a tighter fit, the lower part of the cap rests on my ears. Conclusion: Not a good fit for me.
I sent it back as it was hardly low-profile and did not fit well, or as pictured. I am frustrated as this is the second hat I've returned in two years. It seems like you are not creating products for guys who hunt, but only for millennials and hipsters who don't hunt.
If you’re looking for the renown of Filson Tin Cloth without the boxy-ness of the more modern trucker style hats, this is the hat for you. This lid screams “quality” at the top of its supple, waxed lungs. This is the last hat you’ll ever need (or want).
This is by far my favorite hat. First one lasted almost ten years of hunting and fishing under all weather conditions. It breaths well, keeps your head dry and is all around durable. For anyone who spends time in the field, this is the cap you should have!
I am a big fan of the oil tin low-profile cap. It's my second one from Filson. And that goes along with the other oil tin products that I have purchased from Filson. I specifically like the way the cap fits and, of course, it's rugged style and water proof nature.
I purchased this hat as a gift for my son. He reports that he is vey pleased with the cap. I based my decision to purchase this cap based on my previous experience with my oil tin logger cap and my oil tin insulated packer hat which I have owned and used for the past several years. The logo on my logger hat "Might as well have the best" is the reason I purchase Filson products. Filson products are well made and very durable. I also have a pair of Filson tin pants which I have worn for many years and are still serviceable.
This hat fits me well. It’s a much lower profile than other Filson ballcaps, which all seem to be too big for me. It is made from heavy duty tin cloth which is great for protection in the outdoors, but doesn’t breath well and holds a lot of moisture. Leather strap and brass buckle are a nice touch.
