The Bunker series is Frabill's next generation of over-sized hubs. Building on the success of earlier models, these new designs feature 30% more fishable space with light-weight roof insulation and full-thermal side insulation to keep in the heat for added comfort. Features:
The 100 dollars off made this a great deal for this product. Set up and tear down is quick and easy. Can fit 3 people in it comfortably. The only Thing that could be better is that the storage bag could be a little larger so the shanty is easier to fit back in. Overall very pleased for the price.
I just got this on sale (quick shipping and cheaper than competitors, thank you Scheels) and set it up in the yard.
At first impression it looked pretty good. The hubs don't hold the shelter up super tight, but maybe that will break in after setting up and tearing down a couple times. Although I heard poor reviews about the bag, the shelter went in and out pretty easily. Not so sure how well the shoulder straps will hold out.
But, it was nearly impossible to zip the doors shut once it was set up. In fact, a couple teeth on the zipper broke which I was not happy about. The zipper seems pretty cheap. Once you set it up, you can see that the door fabric is 4 or 5 inches away from the actual closing so it takes some force and shifting to get the door shut as well.
Interior is a perfect roominess for 3 people and light gear, or 2 people who have lots of gear. It seems to hold temps well, too.
I'm going to hold onto it and try it out a few times and see if that zipper holds up. I wanted to get the Fatfish 949i when that was on sale, but I missed it and got the Frabill.
Hope I don't regret it. I'll update my post in a month or so with what ends up happening.
