First run was .45 acp cases (about 250). They ran for 2 hours and were completely clean inside and out. Second run was 800 10mm cases. They ran for under an hour and came completely clean as well. Learning curve was short and so is the cleaning time! Apply some Physics and let it Shine!\r\n\r\nHave 6 months experience now and here’s my Process:\r\n\r\nWet tumbler tips:\r\n1. Fill Drum Only 1/2 to 3/4 full of brass\r\n2. Final Water fill to 2-3” below the top.\r\nNote: both these make room for better tumbling action!\r\n3. No Pins - don’t need them!\r\n4. (1) cap of Woolite Dark Defense, not Dawn.\r\n5. Half teaspoon of Lemi-Shine\r\n6. Process:\r\nPlace brass in drum, fill to just above brass w/ hot water, shake around a bit, dump water off (rinse & pre-heat), then fill again w/ hot water to 2-3” below top, add a capful of Woolite & Lemi-Shine, tumble for 3 hours.\r\n7. Rinse off soap, layout a towel on the ground in the sun, spread brass out laying down sideways to dry … That’s a good time to sort out the odd cases. \r\n\r\nIf you have more than one tumbler of brass to process reuse the solution.\r\n\r\nPre-heating the brass and using hot water helps prevent leakage during tumbling. The box and front of the unit shows that if you turn it left of off, it will run continuously. I tried to run in continuous mode and the knob wouldn't turn past off. Called support and verified it would indeed run in continuous mode. Shipped it back and they sent me another one. I unboxed it and it did the same dang thing!!!! Come on people!!! The reason I bought this is that it will run in continuous mode so I can have Alexa run it for the time I specify. Sure, I can open it up and install a normal on/off switch since I have those abilities but I bought one with that option and I expect it to work. Right from the factory, one would expect it to do as advertised!! Your quality control is non-existent! I was so thrilled for the first few runs then suddenly the drive wheels lost their grip and the drum doesn’t move with contact on the spinning drive wheels. I’ve tried cleaning both the drum and wheels with isopropyl alcohol but to know avail. I even cut the water in half but no luck. Now I’m about to try sanding the drive wheels. My first batch were cases that had already been vibrated in corn cob/walnut shell media and I could not believe how dirty the water was. This thing has cut my case cleaning time by two thirds and is dust free. I haven't experienced any of the leaks that I read about, but have noticed the unit will \"walk\" as it is running. I used the Frankfort cleaning pods with great results. The only time it leaked was when i failed to allow about 3-5 minutes after dropping in n the cleaning pod. If you allow the detergent pod to vent gas, than seal lid, you should not have any leaks. I learned that technique from a review on Midwayusa. You also need to not overload the drum. A set of sifting end caps is also included to assist in separating the stainless media once tumbling is complete.
