Definitely like this smart watch
Like it a lot. The more familiar I become with the functions, the more I like it. GPS feature is handy and fairly simple to use. The health tracking features are a plus. Great smart watch.

Water resistant, activity recordkeeping, durability, style, and functionality....A+
I work in labor field and I like the durability of this watch. I am a big guy with big wrist and this watchband fits perfectly. I like that this watch tracks my stress, steps, sleep, HR, and activities. The other Garmin watches have option to have change watch face completely, but this watch has only a couple of choices..which is Ok because I was looking for something with vital information and functionality and this Instinct serves it's purpose.
I bought a screen and charger protector online so there are options to Protect your watch, it just not available by Garmin.
I liked this watch so much I bought my son one. He is in the US Marine Corp and he likes it too! GPS, activities option, keeps record of workouts, distances, etc.

Data is hopelessly inaccurate
The only good thing about this watch is that it keeps good time but that is not what I bought it for. Shows me walking 3-400 steps when I am asleep in bed and no I do not sleepwalk. I bought it more for hiking. My totals ascent shows 3 to 4 times actual ascent. For example 340 meters actual total ascent confirmed by All trails and maps, shows as over 1,300 meters, (I wish). I get storm alerts on beautiful clear days and no storm alert when one actually does happen. My pulse rate is widely out showing over 170 when below that and under 40 when above that. Altitude bears no resemblance to actual altitude. Apparently my house is well below sea level!

Just got and after 3 hours, no idea how to make it
I was able to connect my phone but not Garmin express on my home computer. I want to hike and watched three YouTube Videos and can get started but now which button, you have 18 alternatives but no easy to navigate. My watch is setting on GPS and can not get the time. I will figure it out but expect to spend hours figuring it out. Best to have a friend show you how.

Reliable and Durable
I bought this watch a few months ago. It is a really well-built watch and looks down on the Fenix 5. I love the rugged design. It has hundreds of different features including an altimeter, barometer, compass, temperature sensor, heart rate monitor, sunrise and sunset times, moonrise and moonset times, moon phases, and GPS. It's really durable too. The only bad thing is, if you don't have a phone, you have to plug it into your computer to sync it. If Garmin could make Garmin Connect for the computer it would be great. The last thing I have to say is about the battery life. The battery lasts for about two weeks, depending on how much I use the GPS. Batteries like the one in this watch last for about 500 cycles(from 100% to 0% charge). That means the battery will last for 19 years! If you use the GPS a lot it should last at least 5 years.

SUPer Easy Set up
I just purchased this watch for all of my Paddleboarding adventures. It was really easy to set up and had no problem connecting to my phone. It is light and the battery seems to be amazing. I am really liking it up to this point and ready to dig into more features.
