This pad is seriously comfortable. The self inflation works great and using the bag as a manual pump is such a fantastic idea that works really well! It doesn’t pack down very small, about the size of a folding camp chair, but I didn’t get it for space saving. I recently spent a week on it out on the Rubicon and it is now my non-negotiable item even on trips where space is limited. It is incredibly comfortable, rolls up and packs easy enough, and the inflation system is ingenious. I didn't have to continuously check the air or blow it up at all during the trip. The air plus the padding makes it super comfortable. Also, it was quite cold (late May trip near Pikes Peak) at night and I remained fairly warm - partly because of the fabric on the pad (along with my sleeping bag - a Coromel 25°). It was easy to inflate and deflate and it's pretty compact for car camping. I really like to get good sleep and I have tried other pads as well as air mattresses, and a cot. It's wide enough to move around on and was comfortable when I slept on my side or back. This is my go-to sleeping solution now. I started to wake up with the pad deflated and tried to diagnose the air leak issue. After spraying soapy water over it I noticed that there were MANY tiny air leaks throughout the pad. We used these to replace some older Kelty pads that we had, which were all air, but having the foam in these makes them easier to inflate and also makes them so much more comfortable. I may just sleep on these instead of my mattress at home! One tip is to not over-inflate these, I found after a few nights that you can sort of match your home mattress firmness if you don't put too much air in them. The first night, I pumped it up and it was way too firm, but after that, I let a little air out and slept like a baby.
