The backpack itself is really nice. My problems were with the water bladder that quit working after one use and the sternum strap that came unhooked when I pulled it too tight. It’s kind of clamped onto a thicker thread but I don’t know how to reattach it.
Lots of room for a 2200, very study construction I spend at least 40 days in the field from November to January, this bag continues to survive some rough Arizona terrain such as cats claw, falling off my Jeep multiple times, and the occasional tumble down a mountain. The bag fits a wide variety of people and has ample padding for anything less than 50-60 lbs, anything over that and it starts to push the wire frame into your lower back. That being said it’s nothing to cry about just a note, most people won’t carry over 35 unless they are hauling meat.
Purchased this pack and used it over two weeks on a Colorado Elk Archery hunt. It was a Badlands pack that is starting to wear out. I was concerned that the fabric would be a little noisy, but this didn't seem to be a problem. I found that rubbing brush made noise no matter what fabric was involved, and the back didn't make noise otherwise. Favorite feature is the pockets...the locations and sizes are much better than my old pack, and I was a lot better organized. I wore a Hill People Gear Recon Kit with the pack, and they integrated very well. Carrying a bow on the back of the pack didn't work as well as I'd hoped, but I'll continue to experiment with that. My only major frustration was the water system...it's too cheaply made, mine came with a kink in the hose and it is ridiculously difficult to get the lid on without cross threading. I quickly replaced it with an old bladder.
I've used this pack for several years now and it has held up incredibly well though my abuse. Very well designed pack with many applications. It's handled numerous pack outs. Main compartment is large enough for big hind quarters etc.
I have taken this pack on multiple shed hunting trips. My average hike is probably around 10 or so miles in a trip and I always lug this thing around to carry my lunch/snacks and any sheds I come across, which the canvas strap works great for. I have always felt that this was a great pack and felt good to wear for that long. I'm seriously considering taking this on a 40 mile backpacking/fly fishing trip to Kings Peak later this year just for the amount of stuff it can carry, the quality of it and because it's really not too much heavier than a backpacking pack (It adds about 2 lbs compared to some budget packs). The bow/rifle sling works great too. I'm overall impressed with this pack and feel that it is very worth the price and compares equal to my buddies badlands pack that he spent triple the money on. Thanks Kings Camo for a quality product!
This pack is incredible, has more space then I had figured, it's structurally sound, very high quality, and well designed, in fact so much so, we purchased 2 of them for myself and step son, and Im really considering purchasing a second one for myself, just to have it, that's how much I'm impressed with this pack, and price is very reasonable, I'm very pleased with this product, and I highly recommend it! Thanks kings camo!
I bought this backpack about 4-5 years ago. The waist belt was separating at the seams from the backpack. After being advised by a luggage repair service that they couldn't fix it, I contacted the company and asked if they could do anything. The customer service rep responded within a couple of hours and advised me this was a manufacturing defect, and that they'd corrected the issue in later models of the backpack. He had me take a few pictures of the backpack an email it to him. Within a week, I had a replacement backpack at no charge! I don't normally write reviews, but I was impressed enough that I had to write this one. Great customer service (and I'm very happy with the backpack)!
I love the pack. The fit is great and is extremely comfortable. The main pocket zipper leaves a bit to be desired. I am on my second pack due to failed zipper. Needs better quality zippers to make it a great pack.
