The first pump lasted probably five years in very Sandy conditions on the river and I was quite satisfied with the amount of time I got from it. If you are sick and tired of blowing up mattresses by this pump. I saw this small pump and thought to try it out. It did not disappoint. My air mattress was blown up in seconds. I plan to use this mainly for my two person Klymit air pad. That does take sometime to blow up with the bag. This gadget will cut that time down significantly. On a side note, I used the air pump to help stoke a fire. It performed extremely well. A great alternative use. This electric pump is something that I will be carrying with me on all of my camping and backpacking trips.
