Sometimes your pup just needs a little more open space in your car to feel secure and comfortable while traveling. It's a difficult dog's life when you don't know whether to be oversized and under protected on a lofty seat - or to hunker down on the not-so-soft floor. The Back Seat Bridge does just what its name says, and bridges the gap between your front and rear seats, so falling to the floor is never a problem for your pup.
With a few simple attachments this padded bridge connects between seats to extend Fido's spot, providing the extra comfortable space that they need to have a happy ride. There is a fold down center barrier that acts as a wall just in case you stop short, and also a built in cup holder and pocket for organization.

We just bought this for our 12-year-old lab and I wished we had bought it much sooner! Our dog likes to rest her head on the center console so she can be close to us, which means she's balancing on the center wheel-well hump in the backseat. Not ideal at 12-years-old. This was super easy to install, she adjusted pretty quickly and rides much more comfortably now. For reference, she weighs 98 lbs and we've done 2 6+hour trips and 4 around town trips with no issues with it being able to support her.
I bought this for my 55lb golden. It holds his weight. I agree that this may have to do with the amount of space it is bridging. It does give him more space, but even with the straps fully extended, it slopes down towards the back of the seat so he is not really level. It is also a bit slippery so sometimes it looks like he is having a hard time getting traction on it.
I have had my extender for a few years and it is still in excellent condition. It has been installed in my Jeep Grand Cherokee and fits perfectly. My 60# dog moves from one window to the other on our rides (attached to Kurgo zip line. I bought a Ram 1500 truck a couple of months ago and moved it to the truck. It took some creative anchoring to stabilize it and it does not cover width of back seat (door to door) but it is working. However, it would be great if the Kurgo design team could make another version for trucks.
I bought this because my Aussie keeps breaking the snaps on the hammocks. He sits right behind the seat and I was hoping this would help. Unfortunately the same thing happened in less than a month, one buckle broke and the thing in the middle doesn't stay up. It also doesn't work that great in bridging the gap because I'm short and have the seat pulled up too far. Might be better for people that have the seat back further but I still think they need to start using metal buckles instead of plastic for things.
This is the best purchase I’ve made for my dog and my piece of mind. My sweet dog just loves to sit on the bridge behind my seat back. She never tries to jump in the front anymore. And she easily loves to get in the car now knowing she won’t fall on the floor.
We’ve used this bridge a few times and our dog appears to have less anxiety while riding in the back seat. He usually can’t get comfortable but within a couple of minutes he was laying down and fell asleep. The bridge seems durable and held his weight with no problems.
