Purchased this rangefinder to replace an old vortex. Very pleased with the product, used on a mule deer hunt in Arizona, very impressed with the ease of use and functions associated with it. Definitely would recommend this rangefinder.
No doubt, a range finder of this caliber is a major investment. You should have high expectations, especially when you purchase a product with the reputation of Leupold. The technology packed into the RX-1600I rangefinder is mind-boggling. The ranging is clear, instant and accurate. I'm super impressed, worth every penny.
I switched from a Leica rangefinder to this rx-1600 because I needed a dual purpose capable rangefinder. Having recently taken up archery hunting I wanted to be able to rely on just one unit that would work or all scenarios and this is it. Easy to use, easy to view, crystal clear display in any light. Controllable with gloves on, compact and light weight. I couldn't be happier
I was so excited to purchase this range finder. I tried Vortex and there was No comparison I tell you if you hunt you need this if you Bow hunt you need this if you just like planking steel YOU NEED THIS And always remember "LEUPOLD FOR LIFE!"
This rangefinder is a serious upgrade from my old Bushnell. The features and performance just blow it out of the water. Super clear glass and really fast operation.
The only problem is that I ordered the orange version. It looks significantly different than the picture. It is a harsher fluorescent orange color and the Realtree print is a faded looking black while the picture shows a color print and just looks much nicer. For this amount of money I expect to get what was advertised.
Had I known, I likely would have ordered the gray or Realtree versions instead. Still great, just not quite what was expected.
I purchased the RX-1200 model early last year. Due to work constraints, I waited until hunting season to open it up and put it to work and it failed immediately. Wouldn't range in any mode. Shipped (Oct 2017) it back to Leupold but was told there was no more inventory and I would have to wait for new model to ship. Received my new replacement (upgraded to RX-1600 model at no cost) yesterday (30 Jan 2018) and so far it is awesome. Although I missed the hunting season without a rangefinder, Leupold's warranty and customer service is why I keep returning after 40 years. Thanks to the guys and gals at Leupold.
