Use it for skiing and mid layer for hiking. Only weather that challenges it is stiff sideways wind that cuts through side panels. It stays quite warm, especially when active, and has never left me disappointed in the Spring-Fall months. Fit runs small on broad chest/shoulders, but otherwise no complaints. Pretty disappointed in sizing with both. I looked at the official sizing guide as well as reviews from other people and came to the conclusion that I should get a size small. Big mistake. Way too small. It’s 2025. I don’t understand what is so difficult about including measurements for the size run of your items. Too much variability in the way individuals wear their clothing for customer reviews to be helpful in that sense. I wonder of the outer fabric will stay neat when I'm hiking with a backpack. \n\nI wear a size Large and this is, for me, a perfect fit even with my broad shoulders the jacket fits well. \n\nWhat's interesting is the breathability and insulation when you're having a walk or hike. It keeps you warm bit on the other hand, I wore it in a Stadium on a windy and chilly night and I got a bit chilly. \n\nI haven't had the chance to test the water resinstancy because it hasn't rained yet. \n\nFor now a 5* review, but haven't experienced all weather conditions. I've also found that it's a great piece for after run / hike piece when I'm hanging outside trying to cool down but not too fast. The light insulation takes the chill away from any wind but I know I get some airflow through the sides and under the armpits where it's stretchy and less insulated. It's also great to pair with a base layer when you start your ski tour but unless it's real cold out or really breezy, this can get a bit warm as a mid-layer as you start gaining some momentum. For living up in Edmonton and going camping, other than winter, this jacket is always in the car just in case I need something during the evenings / mornings or after that outdoor workout.
