I love this shoe! After 20 years of daily runs, I had a lot of recurring foot problems (plantar faciatis, nueroma's, cuboid syndrome etc), my Doctor basically prescribed these shoes for me because if of their support and wide toe box. It was almost instant relief! Seven years and I just purchased my third pair. My only complaint is that I wish they would stop changing the color, this is a man's shoe - black or gray is fine, we don't need all of the psychedelic touches.
I purchased these running shoes for my husband. I'm a runner and have been a BROOKS fan for years. He's on his feet all day walking and he picked them for the support and style. He's normally a 9-10 wide-and the 10 1/2 wide fits him perfectly. He's exceptionally happy with them and I would buy them again!
Great shoe, needs better material in the toe area.
The most comfortable shoe I have worn. Great arch support and good fit. I gave it only 4 stars because the shoe needs stronger material in the toe area to prevent toes from wearing through and creating a hole in the shoe. Like many people, my toe rises as I walk and wears a hole in the shoe toe. For the cost of this shoe Brooks should install stronger material inside the shoe to prevent this and make the shoe last longer. Very disappointing.
I've exclusively worn Brooks Beasts for the last 15 year - the 2016 models were a disaster, even after a year the shoes never quite fit correctly - I did order down half a size, but it's more than just that - the overall fit was off. However, the 2018's is like the Beasts of old - wore it for a week and it fits perfectly and comfortably. Just like every Beast before the 2016's. I now wonder if I need to buy 20 pairs of these in case Brooks forget their size charts again in the future...
I've worn the Adrenaline for years, but they have lost a bit in longevity for me. After trying a few pairs on, I really wanted the Beast, but my wallet said Adrenaline. After a few weeks I returned to this site and purchased the Beast. For me this shoe provides a bit more stability, and I do not feel every crack or stone as compared with the Adrenaline. Overall, it works better for my feet when standing for long periods of time and longer walks. I still love the Brooks line, only exploring my options has helped my overall health!
You guys do a fantastic job providing a variety shoes that can complement one's foot dynamics. My feet are completely flat, and the transcend, beast, and addiction provide the comfort and support I need. Thanks A bunch, I greatly appreciate it.
I have the beast 18 in black and they are the best shoes I have ever worn I have a lot of feet and back problems and I will ways buy brooks beast because they have very good support and very comfortable great job brooks my feet and back are very happy
Great sneaker for dudes with weak arches. The only thing I hate is that this model never goes on sale. And there are no promotions that allow for reduced rates. Always have to pay full price which is twice the amount of a regular shoe.
Third pair of Beasts. I walk 5-10 miles a day and travel a ton for work. Love that they come in extra wide size (4E). These shoes also look great for dress casual work with khakis and twill slacks too. I alternate between the Beasts and GTX 19's depending on weather (I live in Minnesota) and activity. Kudos to Brooks' online store and expidited free shipping. Ordering online has great support and is so easy. Fan for life!
Thank you for the Beast Redesign. I have been wearing the Beast for several years now to help reduce plantar fasciitis pain. The new design is the most comfortable sneaker i have worn in a long time. Keep up the good work. Happy New Year
I've worn these almost exclusively for 4-5 years. Even when I'm not power walking, or walking for exercise. They are super comfortable, cushy, and they even FEEL supportive to my foot. I can't recommend them enough ! My podiatrist recommended them initially—said they were the best athletic shoes around
I am a Board Certified Podiatrist who runs marathons and treats sports injuries. The Beast is an excellent shoe for motion control with very good shock absorption for moderate to larger runners. It would be perfect if the outersole had better wear, especially the outer portion of the heel.
I needed a replacement for my old standby New Balance 587. This is very close, especially because I need the rollbar to keep my knees pain free. I have an artificial hip, so I'm not supposed to run (I do jog uphill, which avoids much of the impact load on the hip). A little leather would be nice, but the comfort is great.
The Beast is an anti-hyperpronation shoe which has a bit of arch support, perfect for me and you don't even need an insert. However I've noted that sizes are not completely consistent year to year. This new shoe is a size 11 2E and is EXACTLY the same size as my previous Beast 10.5 2E. Is the centimeter not the same across the world?
The new Beast is not as good as the old Beast. I have terrible foot problems and had bee depending on the arch support for several years. New Beast has less support. Not happy, but they're still better than others....
The Beast is my go to sneaker. I have had planter fasciitis bad in the past. Someone recommended this sneaker to me years ago. I've tried a few others but none give the same support in the heel and arch like this sneaker does. I liked the model from a year ago the best. It was a little big over size wise but great support. The newer models seem slimmer down a bit.
I was having a recurring bout of plantar fasciitis. Yrs ago my orthopedic Dr. had recommended for me to buy Brooks Beast, it made a world of difference. Recently due to recurrence, I bought Beast 18. In a matter of a few wks wearing these shoes, my pain has all but gone,
Great shoe as I recover from a total hip replacement
I am a 65 year who used to be an avid runner until hip problems. Converted to rowing and after a long (too long) 5 year stint of living with a bad to really awesome hip finally got it replaced. I have always been a Brooks fan, in the past using their super light weight shoes. I started a rigorous rehab soon after the surgery and after a week began fast walks on the treadmill and relatively rigorous Precor AMT workouts of 40 minutes. These shoes have been an instrumental part of my rapid recovery. While I can't comment on running as running they way I once did is out of the question, for walking and other cross training exercises particularly for those recovering from joint surgery, the cushioning and support (as well as the extra weight) of the shoes can't be beat. Tried the Ghost and Adrenalin but these hit the spot.
