I need a very strong supportive shoe due to ankle injury. Brooks Beast are the best shoe I have found. When the support begins to wear out, I know it’s time to order a new pair. They are the best! I just wish you could add some other colors, not much change in the past few years. Blue|Gray.. Please try some brighter color combinations. Thank you. Jed Strange
Absolutely a great buy and very comfortable shoe for heavy runners.
As a heavy (230#) person on a weight loss and heart healthy road to better fitness, I was suffering from the inability my former shoes to cope with the pounding these old bones were experiencing while getting back into a jogging routine. I could not be happier with the Brooks Beast 20. Great support and great cushioning! I especially like the way the fabric stretches to offer support without cutting off blood circulation. I highly recommend the Beast 20 to heavy walkers/joggers doing their thing on pavement.
I've bought Brooks's Beast for seven years now, it's my favorite running shoe for the stability. However, with each new Beast I get I can see the cheaper and cheaper production of it. It's disappointing.
This shoe would have been my 4 experience with Brooks Beast. This new rendition is to cushy for me. Since i have fat feet firm is important. I am an old guy 78 and walk I do not run . Since my left foot is an 11 1/2 D and my right foot is 11 1/4 barely D the wide front of the shoe compared to older models made it impossible for to wear the right shoe without slippage. I used the shoe outlets to make the shoe fit as tight as I could and it do not solve the problem . I think you normal width is probably a D plus rather than the original D. Therefore I was forced to return the shoes
Use case: Walker, 185 pounds, arthritic knees w/ no ACLs, medium arches, mild supination
Stable. I tend to tweak my (very very bad) knees when walking, and my ankle tend to roll to the outside. After ~20 miles, has yet to happen in these shoes, and they instill confidence like no others I own, including the ECCO Fusions I've been wearing for years.
Comfortable. The footbed and upper are absolutely first rate. My heal is in a sports car bucket seat, while my forefoot is in a limo. I tried a pair of Adrenaline 20's, and they didn't compare -- like going from a Lexus to a Toyota.
Style. Simple, sleek, sporty yet conservative. Could use a couple more colorway choices, but gray and black have it covered pretty well. If I have a word printed on the outside of my shoes, it might as well be "Beast."
Cushion. Not a very plush shoe. Probably a trade-off for maximum stability, so I can't fault it as a design decision. I prefer the midsole of the ASICS Gel-Nimbus 22, but I don't feel the same confidence walking far from home in the ASICS.
Flexibility. The forefoot is less flexible than many of my non-athletic shoes. I suspect his is another max-stability tradeoff.
Love these shoes! This is my 3rd pair and the 20s are the best yet! As a big guy, I appreciate the comfort and support that I get from my Beasts. My walks have lengthened and my foot pain has diminished!
Disclaimer: I have not had the Brooks Beast since around 2009 I picked up the Beast 20 because I needed more support and comfort and went on a long run and then a walk and so far these are great! Very good cushion and bounce with the right amount of support
I am not impressed with the quality. I am a first time user and its been about two months since buying the beast 20. Already the insole is coming apart on the right shoe. I was not expecting this considering the price should equal good quality. Pure disappointment as I had high hopes for these shoes.
This was my 12th pair of beasts, and I feel disappointed enough in them that I just returned them. Sizing runs smaller than past beasts, in width and height of the uppers. Hoping as some others that Brooks goes back to fit and design of older models, and maybe some better color choices.
The shoe has been great. The fit is similar to the previous Beast models and feels considerably lighter. I ran into an issue with the materials fraying near the ankle. I spoke with customer service and they immediately sent me a new pair. It was easy to connect with Brooks and I will definitely buy all of my shoes directly from Brooks.
I purchased the Beast ‘20 running shoe. I have been purchasing the Beast models for several years. The show is lighter and has the same great feel and support as the other models. I encountered an issue with the shoe which was fraying slightly around the ankle. The customer support could not have been better. They replied immediately to my concern and shipped me a new pair of shoes. It was a 5* experience. If you have a choice on where to buy your shoes, I would buy directly from Brooks. I am throughly impressed.
Great support for my flat feet and comfortable fit. I'm not a runner. I'm an old pronating, flat footer who is walking for health. I need the extra support to avoid joint pain in previously broken ankle, and for heel spurs.
i have foot issues and have tried many different shoes.yours are the most comfortable, the only ones i can wear that minimize my foot pain.the only problem i have is i only get 6-8 months out of each pair.for the price you charge the quality should be a lot better than it is.see enclosed photos
I loved the shoes, but have YET to be able to wear them. My shoelaces were too short. I wrote and your great staff sent me new ones, but they were SHORTER than the first ones that didn't lace correctly. So, then I wrote AGAIN to order the longest ones you could send. I'm a size 11.5 and probably a 13 would work or at least let me lace them up.
Most comfortable shoe I’ve ever worn. I’m a registered nurse and on my feet for twelve hours a day. These shoes feel like they are barely there (in a good way) save for the excellent cushion and support. I love them.
Just got back into running after a 9 year hiatus of massive weight gain and loss. Military career gave me two LH ankle surgeries, L4-L5 herniated disks, and bad knees, needed a shoe that would allow me to enjoy running again. The Beast did that! The support is fantastic, and the cushion on each stride impact was like no other I have ever tried. Brooks has made a shoe here that if I didnt know better I would think it was made just for me! The fit is fantastic, my feet do get a little moist toward the end of 3-3.5 miles but the fit keeps my feet stable with no rubbing, so no blisters. I enjoy running again, the Beast has helped with my worries of ankle strength and impact pain. THANKS BROOKS!
The 20 fits much better than the two previous Beasts, which were somewhat tight. Otherwise, I am so far very happy with the fit and comfort of the Beast 20. I am always amazed at just how supportive and comfortable these shoes are.
Every other shoe I've worn is nowhere near the support of the beast and hurt my feet. I have had multiple foot surgeries and these have been my only shoes since 2006. I go through about 2-3 pairs a year. My only complaint is that the color options are so boring.
I don’t run. Walking too much can even be hard. But, these sneakers provide enough support for the pronation of my ankle. ( An old fast pitch softball injury.... probably should have had surgery years ago)
