I've worn this in the 40 degree range. It's not quite enough when it's freezing out, and can be a bit warm once it get closer to 50 degrees out, but overall it's a great shirt. I like the long sleeves over the hand. My one complaint is I wish the zip was a bit longer as it's much closer to a quarter zip. When going up hills and my core temperature rises, having a bit more of a zipper length would be a nice benefit.
This is the perfect additional layer for cooler mornings, when the temperature is around 50 F. It is extremely soft and comfortable, and does it's job in waking moisture. It is, however, a 1/4-zip, and not a 1/2-zip, as another reviewer has noted. Also, it runs about a size large — I ordered a small for an extremely tight fit, and it fits more like a medium. On the whole, however, this is an outstanding garment, and I will be ordering additional colors!
Have 2 of these that are a year or two old. Loved them so much that I ordered another this year. Unfortunately these now have a seam across the chest and the zipper length is only 1/2 as long as the others - it's more like a 1/4 zip than 1/2 zip. Still nice and soft but don't care as much for this newer "style".
I am an atypical shaped runner, think 6'6" #270 defensive lineman, so the half size small in fit is more about my build; in non-running gear XL fits great but here I went with XXL and it is just right. One thing that is noteworthy is that my sleeve length is 38" and the sleeves are long enough to comfortably reach my wrists. Most running gear long sleeve tops come down about mid forearm. This top is versatile and very comfortable - it has also held up extremely well being washed at minimum 5x's a week. It is lightweight enough that it does not cause me to perspire unnecessarily; I am running in North Louisiana (high humidity) 28°- 45° temperatures. I am purchasing another one.
I recently purchased this top at the Marine Corps Marathon Expo, sponsored by Brooks. I wear a medium in almost any brand, but was shocked how large the Medium was. The sizing is definitely off as the small is a perfect fit for a guy w/ a 38" chest, so I would consider sizing down. Sizing aside, great lightweight top that breathes well, doesn't become heavy with sweat on longer endurance runs (10 mi etc), which is especially important during winter so you don't get cold. It also feels very soft and doesn't chafe anywhere. I just bought a 2nd one from Brooks running online.
I'm a 5'5" 130 lb female and bought this in small for a cozy running top that I could use in the 40F or colder weather and it's perfect. It's a little roomy and covers my rear end. The material is really soft and there are a few reflective details. Well worth the price!
The Dash 1/2 Zip texture is very soft. I wear it by itself when the weather is 40 degrees or above. When I get a little hot I like that I can unzip the collar to keep me cool. Then when I am done running on my cool down I zip the collar back up. This is my second Dash 1/2 Zip purchased.
