My daughter recommended that I try Brooks from another well known brand and I'm glad that I did. M feet like Fred Flintstones's are very wide at the toes and I wear a 14 extra wide and the Ghost 11 fits extremely well and they are very comfortable. Other shoe brands that I have tried always seen too narrow. Thanks Brooks for a well engineered shoe.
I haven't decided whether or not I will buy again.
The material on the toe end of my right shoe is constructed that my large toe sets on the rubber sole instead of inside the shoe where it belongs, this makes the shoe wider than it should be, also my big toe rests on the rubber as I'm walking and it's not comfortable.
These shoes are great. My wife and I switched to this brand about a year ago and I will not buy anything else. Everyone we talk to we are sure to tell them about these. Not only are these comfortable, but they last a long time without any issues. The quality easily beats all others!
Best shoes and currently only shoes I will wear to run
These are awesome shoes. Tried a few other brands every year alongside my Brooks when I order them and I always keep the Brooks and send the others packing. These things are always best looking, most comfortable, most durable for running and just walking around. Definitely save me knees under constant running.
The Ghost 11 continues in a long line of well designed, comfortable running shoes from Brooks. As someone with high arches and some supination, the Ghost helps fix those issues and provide comfort and support while running. I am also on my feet all day, so the Ghost is perfect for supporting my posture and keeping my feet from being too sweaty. Just don't try to play basketball in them, as I ruined an old pair when they split at the mesh.
I spend at least an hour a day at the gym on the treadmill, then lift. Some years ago an orthopedic surgeon told me that every single shoe on the market collapses under bigger guys like us (we both were over 300), and the only one that would last over 90 days was the Brooks Beast. It was OK, but gave up the ghost in under 6 months and collapsed on the outer edges. My feet tend to supinate maximally, so cheaper shoes are not an option, and have damaged my feet in the past. I was skeptical about ordering online, fearing (despite Brooks' customers saying that their shoes fit) that I would have a problem with that, since my feet are a little wider than D width, and a trifle longer than the 10.5 I ordered. These 10.5 D shoes fit perfectly, and more important (despite Brooks calling them "neutral" shoes), tend to pronate my feet, which is exactly what I needed to happen. As a powerlifter, they need to stand up to leg presses which would crush lesser shoes - these hold firm and steady at very high weights. Summary - better than the Brooks Beast or Glycerin (I've owned both); best overall shoe I've ever used. Plus I love the color scheme.
My arches are the highest my podiatrist has seen in 25 years of practice. He made me special arch supports from two molds stacked on one another. The arch was to high for the standard single mold. After purchasing my Ghost 11s, they were so comfortable, I didn't want to use my arch supports anymore. My feet honestly don't hurt as much as they used to, even with the doctor prescribed arch supports. If I could, I'd have ALL of my shoes made like a Brooks. Keep up the great work. Love your product.
You could feel the comfort and support as soon as you put them on. Great shoes so far. These are the best Ghost to date. I have had the 7,8,9, and 10's. They just seem to make every new edition a little better. Very lite weight shoes also!
Big fan brooks ghost. My last pair was the ghost 9 then I had foot injury that sidelined me for almost 1year. Now that I'm back I don't think there is better shoe to nurse my feet. Great feel, light and responsive
I run 3-5 times a week. I like to run one 5 mile easy pace at least once a week and then a few 2-3 milers with varying speeds. When I really pick up the speed and begin to run on the ball of my foot I have a few minor complaints about this shoe. I wish the shoe wasn't so wide at the toes. Also I can tell these are really designed for distance runners who run heel toe, what I mean by that is the shoe is very padded at the heels and wide with little padding at the ball of your foot. This is great for distance running, so that's exactly what this shoe should be used for. Standing still in the shoe you can really feel that your heel is elevated and it causes you to lean forward slightly, making you feel ready to take off on that run. I do think I'm going to get another shoe however for training at the gym and using for other sport activities, using this one just for running. If you are looking for a good distance running shoe this one should be everything you need.
Comfortable and springy, these shoes helped my form and subsequently knocked a few seconds off my times. Recently started running again 3 days a week at 2 mile distance and had shin splints from my Nikes. At 6'4" 245# it's not easy finding comfort while pounding the pavement. Switching to these shoes was a great move. My legs feel great. Get yourself a pair!
Very comfortable, but the only thing I feel that needs improvement, is they need winter shoes, instead of vented. Running through snow an rain, has your feet getting wet an cold. Would give this shoe high ratings.
I've only had a chance to put a handful of miles on these thanks to winter weather and some sick kids. I'm prone to shin splints so I've been looking for some shoes that might at least help with that issue. Not sure if these are helping or not yet.Need a chance to pound some more miles. I do agree with the description of the cushioning. It's just right. Not too soft, but still absorbs a lot of the impact. I usually wear a 11.5 to 12 in most shoes. These I had to size up to a 12.5. This is also noted on the Brooks site, but....I didn't listen the first time.
I love Brooks Ghosts. For a short time I was running on Glycerins because I moved someplace with more pavement running, so my review might be slightly skewed. However, these shoes are light, nimble and very comfortable. However, I feel the padding is thinner than previous models. I haven't felt anything in my legs, knees, or hips to justify that, but I definitely feel more of the road and I'm not sure I like that. My favorites were the ghost 9's and I still have a pair that I kick around for general outings with the family. Solid shoes and good padding even after 300miles of running...
I have worn everything from Nike to New balance and Asics to Hoka but Brooks are by far my favorite. I have recently branched out to the energize series for a little faster run and the verdict is not out yet on those.
Ordered in a 13 as I always have for ghosts and it was to small of a shoe. Customer service was great as always but I would recommend a size up. That only pertains to this shoe though. I ordered the cascadias for trail running at the same time and as usual the size 13 was fine. With these I exchanged for a 14 wide and now they're probably a bit to roomy but they're doing the trick anyway.
I am currently deployed and order these shoes after I tried a couple with Asics that didn't work out to well. Basically, I was looking for a shoes that could be comfortable for my high arches and wide feet and that would ship to a deployed location. They fit great but they do run about a half a size big length wise. I already have my second pair on the way and plan on sticking with these for awhile.
This is my first pair and I went to Finishline wanting to try Ultaboost & Pegasus but for some reason I tried the Ghost 11 purely out of coincidence without any expectation and once I put them on I felt like I was completely in control and the toe box felt so soft and comfortable. I later tried both ultraboost and pegasus but never felt the same way I felt wearing Ghost completely at home. The shoe expert in store told me seems like you found your perfect match and truly these are perfect match especially if you have a slightly wider feet. Ironically Levitate was narrower and was not a good fit since it was too narrow but the feel of Ghost made me fall in love with it the very first time I wore it. Definitely recommend the Ghost 11 if you want a solid stable , cushiony and roomy quality shoe
I purchase new running shoes every 6-7 months depending on how much running I get in. I switched to Brooks' Ghosts a couple of years ago and have never looked back. They are a very comfortable shoe that can take a pounding. They are a bit on the heavy side, but its worth the extra padding and comfort. The Ghost 11s have been a great shoe over the past month. Once I got a few miles under them, they broke in real nice. I cant imagine using any other type of shoe.
My favorite - 3rd time - but different rev of Ghost!
I had switched to New Balance - but reverted back to Ghost. In terms of balance and comfort (width) - Ghost is much better. The problem I had with New Balance is that - my heal would tend to crack often, and after a year or so, finally gave up.
I have minor knee and foot problems that prevent me from running. I rotate through four pairs of Brooks shoes, seven days a week, and they have been a HUGE help. The latest pair is my first pair Ghosts. Very comfortable! I do have one request. I wear size 13x4E. There are very few colors / styles available in that size. I understand why - Brooks is going to make shoes that sell, and 13x4E is not exactly a popular style. But could you please make a few more shoes in my unusual size?
