With an OrthoLite® sockliner for premium step-in comfort and a breathable double-jacquard upper, these men's Brooks running shoes will take your stride to new levels.
Comfortable, and very good cushioning. However, after about 350 miles of walking and jogging, the sole at the heel has broken through. The cushioning is gone on the inside of the right heel. A shame it doesn't hold up longer. Can't afford to replace so often, as a recent reviewer has said.
My 4th our of Glycerins. Just 25 miles in but love the 18’s. 15’s were my favorite but these may replace them and they are way more similar to the old 15’s. Firmer but still soft and a little more structure then the last 2 models. We’ll see how the new outsole holds up but LOVE the feel of these.
Third time's the charm....but the first two were as well.
This is my third pair of Glycerins (second pair of Glycerin 18) and I love all of them. Right now this pair goes along with my other pair of Glycerin 18 and I alternate between them each day. They are just as wonderful as my other pair with the added bonus that the darker color doesn't show dirt quite the way the white pair does. Very cushiony feel though it should be noted that I am a walker not a runner. I get quite a bit more life out of these shoes than a runner might just because the mileage isn't as high impact as a runner's mileage.
I tried Kuru, Brooks Ghost 13 and Glycerin - and Glycerin fit my feet the best; I mostly walk on cold asphalt in the mornings around the neighborhood and it's really comfortable and grips the surface well.
I like the combination of cushioning and firmness. They have great stability. I enjoy using them for runs and long power walks. When I purchased them, I was looking for shoes that could serve both purposes. I had the Glycerin 17's. I like the 18's better. The 17's were overly cushiony. The 18's have good cushion but seem to be a little firmer and have better stability. I am no longer a serious runner. My hip and knees don't allow it. But these shoes allow me to continue doing light running and power walking without significant disconfort.
This is my second pair of Brooks Glycerin gym shoes. My first pair was excellent, but these are far better. You addressed my two reservations. The new design is lighter, with noticeably more cushioning, but also more supportive. They are so wonderful that I immediately ordered a pair for my wife, who is equally delighted. Great job of taking an outstanding product and making it even better.
I’ve been running in Asics for years, in the Gel Nimbus most recently. I was looking for a supportive, cushioned shoe that didn’t feel sluggish. These fit the bill. Have about 60 miles on them thus far and really love them. Fit true to size. Think I’m a Brooks guy now.
New 18 doesn’t seem to have as much cushion on sole and shoe laces are a bit short. But still in break in phase, got 20 miles in them so far so jury still out! The 18’s are my 5th pair of glycerin’s so far and loved every pair prior so don’t see any reason to panic yet!!
Not sure of what changes they made to the Glycerin 18 but my Glycerin 17 feels way better then the new 18's. Hoping they go back to how they made the 17's when they decide to make the 19's. Luckily I have multiple pairs of the 17's because the 1 pair of 18's that are not the greatest.
These are quite good shoes, and I was very happy with the selection process on Brooks' website. I usually go directly to stores and try on a variety of shoes, but given current pandemic, that wasn't a great option.
But even though I only got one pair to try, it was the right pair, so overall, it was a great experience.
I love my Glycerin 18’s. I’m a tall runner in his early 50’s. My Glycerins are super comfortable and offer me the perfect amount of cushion and support. I’ve been running with them for over 5 years now. Enjoy them!
Great shoes. Remind me of some of the best previous versions. Excellent cushioning got rid of some hip pain. I just ran 4 miles and they were great. I am 220 lbs. These will replace an old pair of levitates
