It took a week for me to love it , coz i was wearing glycerins before , but after a week i wear it everyday at work , which includes 10-12000 steps , climbing stairs and sprinting at times working in a hospital , aside from the comfort i love wearing it , it is. a head turner , we'll designed superficial but of course , comfort wearing it is more important , very recommendable !
Very comfortable on both the road and trail. I would prefer a more narrow toe box as my forefoot has a little extra room in these but it's not bad. These are great for my shorter runs and I can really feel the energy return on the road. I would buy these again.
I usually do my long training runs in the current iteration of the Ghost. The I read about the energy return feature of the Ricochet I thought I would try it. At my age anything helps. I used the shoe (with a Protalus insert) in a 10 mile run in the cold and was thrilled with the feel and performance. I may have found a new best friend.
After running in the Levitate, I was very excited about trying the Ricochet, and I was not disappointed. It's a lighter, speedier version of the Levitate. Great for longer tempo runs and would be great for half & full marathons.
The Brooks Ricochet is my new go-to running shoe! I've had these shoes for 2 weeks and have put about 60 miles on them. If you are looking for a fast neutral shoe with a moderate drop of 8mm and a durable weight for some serious miles look no further! I love the Launch due to its light weight, but had to try the Ricochet due to the lower midsole drop and heavier weight for longer training runs. I don't really notice the extra weight too much, the shoe feels fast and very responsive, and I can already tell they well hold up well in all-weather and all-terrain conditions for many miles, especially longer training runs.
I work 12hr shifts that turn into 14hrs all the time... These shoes are like heaven to my feet, no pain or soreness by the end of my day. But it also has to do with the type of support I need for my feet, which is why I bought these specific brooks... they don't disappoint!
I love this shoe. I broke my heel bone into 3 pieces. I now have 5 titanium screws holding it in place. After being in a splint for two months and a walking boot for another 2 months I now how to wear a ankle brace. I've been going to physical therapy learning how to walk due to other injuries at the time. These shoes help my gait so much! I love them. My cousin bought the same exact pair after I did.
Excellent shoes, incredibly high quality and stylish without being flashy. If you've ever worn a wide shoe however, I'd look elsewhere. Depending on the brand I've bought both normal and wide shoes in the past. These are a bit more narrow than I'm accustom to and cause a little pain on the outside of my feet after about four miles.
I just started using this shoe for running post-marathon (didn't want to switch up from the Ghost in the middle of training). It is lightweight, but still cushioned, and definitely has more spring in its step compared with the Ghost. I think my foot is narrow, and I felt like compared with the Ghost, this shoe has a more narrow feel to it that nicely hugs my foot and keeps it in place a bit more. The upper is very comfortable and breathes well. Very happy with my purchase.
I use the Brooks Caldera for my trail runs and have been a long time user of the Brooks launch series for road runs. I decided to give the Ricochet and try and I absolutely love it! It has a great minimalist feel without giving up the comfort and cushion Brooks is known for. Compared to the Launch I find the Ricochet more responsive and light. Thanks for the great shoe Brooks!
After years in Connects, Green Silence and Flows, age made me seek a softer ride and I transitioned to Ghosts a few years back. The Ghost is nearly a perfect shoe, but 10-12mm drop isn't what we all want. I avoided the Levitate due to the weight so this was my first DNA Amp experience. The shoe is a simplistic work of art. The bootie-style upper is perfection for fit, feel and support. I cannot imagine a better upper, but I was expecting a bit stronger of an energy return experience in the forefoot. I'd love to test a version that trimmed 1mm from the heel and shifted it to the forefoot. It is refreshing to experience 8mm drop. The Ricochet is a solid performer at easy pace, but it excels when pushed. I thought I changed shoes when I transitioned during a training run from easy pace to race pace! It checks all the boxes so I will be wearing it for an upcoming marathon. Brooks, thanks for being a planet-friendly organization and for giving us a shoe that lands nicely between the Ghost and Hyperion. Run Happy!
The first thing I noticed was the difference in drop from the Launch. I prefer a lower drop shoe, but have been dealing with some Achilles tenderness. To reduce the stress on my Achilles, I've gone back to running in the Launch 5. I typically swap between the Launch, the Levitate 2, and the Caldera all of which have at least 8mm drop. The Ricochet is in that range and was very comfortable walking and running. Even though the weight of the shoe isn't much different from the Levitate 2, the Ricochet just felt lighter and faster. The shoe seemed to always be urging me to go faster. It just feels fast. One surprise was the shoe did feel big on me. I received me normal size (9.5) but had to cinch down on the shoelaces to get the shoe comfortable. I have downsized a half size in the Cascadia, so it may be possible that I need to do the same with this shoe. I will have to experiment with that to know for sure. The Ricochet also initially had a gentle push on the sides that I was not accustom to. It wasn't like a support shoe but it was noticeable at first. Eventually, I either got used to it or the shoe started to break in. But shortly after starting to run in these, I no longer noticed that sensation. Overall, I love the Ricochet. I plan on replacing the Launch 5 with the Ricochet in my normal rotation. Disclaimer: I received a pair of Ricochet free of charge in exchange for my honest review/opinion.
From my first run, the Ricochet was worth every penny that I spent on them. In honesty, I was given the shoes for free to do a test run. It doesn't matter because I loved them. While I was a long time Levitate user (4 pairs), I've been wearing Launch 5 for the last month so while the Ricochet was heavier on my feet it felt lighter than the Levitate and man let me tell you about the energy return. The energy return on these shoes was amazing. It made each run effortless. I would highly recommend this shoe for neutral runner that wants to do some long energized miles.
I had the chance to try these out and I just love them. They are incredibly comfortable, both for running and walking. I love the upper as it has a mesh type material, very light and breathable. I feel they fit true to size. I wear a 13 and had the perfect amount of room. If you are thinking about these shoes, no need to think about it, order them, you will love them.
After being a loyal and happy Brooks running shoes customer for over five years, I was excited to try out the new Ricochets. Thank you to Brooks for sending me the Ricochets free of charge a week before the release to try out. I love the look of the shoe. It looks modern and sleek. The new soles are great. I have already logged about 35 miles in my new Ricochets. I might have found my new favorite running shoe!
I had the opportunity to test run the Ricochet, free of charge, from Brooks for my honest opinion. I have been a life time runner and had many different shoes. I have run in the Levitate 2's, Launches, and Pure Flows, which have been my favorite until I ran in the Ricochets. They have the responsiveness of the Pure Flow and cushion of the Levitate. They also breath better than the Levitate. I like the fitted upper. *****
I received the Ricochet from Brooks to try out and review. I am a long time fan of the Brooks Ghost and have tried the first version of the Levitate. As I get older, I've really come to really on the cushioning of the Ghost. What I found with the Ricochet is that it has enough cushioning to satisfy my needs with added responsiveness. I also really like the stripped down feel of the upper and the lower heel to toe drop relative to the Ghost. While I won't be giving up my Ghosts, I will definitely alternate between the Ghosts and the Ricochet. I will definitely invest in another pair of the Ricochet when I need to replace these.
I highly recommend The Ricochet!.... They made me feel 10 years younger. They feel light and extremely comfortable. They were such a joy to run in that I had to practice self control not to run way more then I should.... These Shoes were provided to me by an "Old Friend, That I Have Ran many many miles with(Brooks Shoes)". Sincerely, Robert I.
I was contacted by Brooks and offered the chance to test run their new Ricochet shoe for free and keep the shoes in exchange for my honest opinion. Who was I to say no!?!? These shoes are very comfortable. Offer great support and cushion for both walking and running. So lightweight its like they are not even there. Buy em! You wont regret it.
