A men's jacket made of water-repellent and wind-resistant cotton duck. Rancher or lineman, anyone who works outside can appreciate the cold-weather chops of this men's hooded jacket. Proudly made in the USA, it's built with water-repellent and wind-resistant rugged cotton duck. The body and hood are lined with quilted flannel for under-the-covers warmth.
Wonderful jacket and fastest delivery I've ever received.
This was a gift for my son, who is outdoors a lot for work and pleasure. He loves this jacket! This was a second order due to a size issue (our fault). I chose standard ground both times and was amazed to see it delivered within 2 days of my placing the order each time. Fantastic!
I have worked on a Cattle Ranch and in the Construction Industry for 5 years now. This jacket is my go to for any brisk morning in the saddle or operating a backhoe. Carhartt is my trusted choice of product in the field!
This is a great jacket! Tough to break in and comes a little stiff but I'm glad its so durable. If I could rate 10/5 for stars on durability I would. Sleeves are nice and long and the length is just right. This jacket is wide but the pockets are nice and large with an inside zippered pocket. Overall I'm impressed with this high quality jacket.
I was very surprised at how warm this jacket is. my body runs a little hot, if its not below 40 outside, i cannot wear this thing. so warm! i wore it snowmobiling around the neighborhood with just a tshirt on underneath in 0 degree weather and thought to myself multiple times how i cannot believe I'm not cold right now. Its an amazing coat.
This is an awesome jacket for anyone who spends time outdoors. Its warm, comfortable, and durable. Its everything that an outdoorsman needs. Also a plus is that the jacket is extremely odor resistant. I have done alot of sweating in it and it continues to ventilate and stay good smelling before washing. My only reasons for giving 4 stars is that the "true fit" feature told me that my size was Large. I ordered this size and it ended up being a little bit bigger than I would have liked. After some more adjusting on the "true size" menu post order, my true sized turned out to be a medium. It is ok, though, since I need to layer up underneath it at times.
Dealing with the polar vortex in Wisconsin presently and this jacket will keep you warm in even extreme conditions. Excellent at resisting the wind too. The dood not only keeps head warm but is designed to keep neck toasty also.
I find every excuse to wear this jacket! I never get cold, or too hot in this jacket! Often when wearing a jacket like this, that i can depend on keeping me from cold wind, or just staying warm on a chilly night.. i always find that i eventually get so hot, i cant wait to take it off!! This jacket is breathable, so i don't feel that way, yet i know i will always be warm staying in it.
This jacket will keep you warm! This is the one to buy if you live in bitter cold temps
Again idk why it won’t let me tap to rate the comfort etc but i give everything 5 stars.
I have the dark navy one. Let me say that the dark navy one is not genuinely represented color wise by the stock photo above. Mine is darker. It’s dark navy. The stock photo above looks lighter then what the actual color is. Just warning y’all if you’re buying dark navy. I’ve seen the other colors. The black is black, the carhartt brown looks kinda faded in this model. The dark brown is dark brown. Idk what the red or gravel one is like b/c i never saw those colors in the store. The rest i’ve seen though.
This jacket is WARM and will keep you warm and dry in the bitter cold temps. I am in Buffalo, NY - it has been extremely cold here these past couple weeks. Single digit temps - very bitter, icy, windy, just horrible. It’s been highs of either 5-10 degrees and lows of 0 to -4 - yeah that cold and windy, blowing snow, blizzard like conditions. Just really bad horrible COLD weather. I am so glad i own this coat. This one keeps you very warm. It’s got the quilted flannel on the inside, tough outer shell, wind-resistant, and it’s only $99.99 ?! Whoa - what a bargain! I can see why it’s one of the most purchased coats and most popular one by carhartt. It’s really good and it keeps you very warm.
This past week i was snowblowing the driveway and it was 5 degrees out w/ wind blowing the snow. I had on a lightweight sweatshirt (similar to carhartt’s force extremes sweatshirt) atop a long sleeve shirt and i had the j140 on top of all this - zipped up fully. I wasn’t wearing the hood though but i had on a Sherpa lined hat and i had on flannel lined jeans along w/ Northside brand boots that are waterproof and have 200g thinsulate in them. I was caked w/ snow from head to toe and i was completely warm and dry. The only part of me that was cold were my cheeks lol b/c stupid me i should of worn a scarf or put on a balaclava - it was my first time snowblowing - needless to say i know better now and i own a balaclava now so i don’t have to worry about next time. The J140 kept me very warm and it’s my go-to jacket now for the winter. I am happy to have it. When this one gets distressed or worn, i will buy another j140 - it’s def worth the $. It’s a lil stiff brand new - i know from trying it on but you can move your arms in it - you can still move but it will require some breaking in or you can throw it in your washer a few times and try that way but i’d still say buy the j140. I’m happy i did. I regret nothing - it’s my fave coat now. The only thing i dislike about it is the color. I’m not a fan of navy being that the coat this one replaced was also a dark navy so i’m kinda tired of navy coats - but what can i do, i bought it used and i’m grateful. When it wears out, i’ll buy another one in a color i like. I would of preferred it in the dark brown, but i’m very happy to have the coat and i am def wearing it a lot in our bitter cold temps.
If you’re like me and have tried on a lot of carhartt’s or have bought and returned b/c you didn’t feel it was warm enough for your winter, just buy the j140 already. You won’t regret it, and just work on the stiffness by wearing it - even though mine is 1yr old, it’s still very warm and like new and keeping me warm/dry. I’m glad to have it.
I live in Florida so not a lot of cold weather but sitting at a race track at night in February gets a little uncomfortable and it usually is damp. Carharts take care of business. I like the large tall so the waist and sleeves don’t ride up. Excellent jacket at a good price.
Got this for my son for the cold Michigan winters before he goes up to NMU in the U.P. He never takes it off. I am the proud father of a Carhartt wearing NMU student! Thanks agian Carhartt! Another generation will carry the torch... God bless America!
Would like to see a bright yellow one for safety use.
This jacket is warm enough for me. Since I work mostly outside in the elements and due to the company safety standards, I have to wear a lousy bright yellow jacket supplied by the company. The jacket they gave me is not as insulated and warm as the Carhartt. I would give my left arm for Carhartt to make a bright yellow jacket like this one for the masses.
I am 6'-2" / 180#, 34" waist / 40" chest - medium build. Due to my height, I need a tall jacket. I am swimming in the medium tall, even with a thick layer underneath. It is much too large at the chest and waist, allowing cold air inside. The jacket is brand new, received January 2019.
It is just what I was looking for. I don’t work outside all winter anymore so my arctic coat will sit and I use this one for everything. They started making this one and the Detroit jacket in the USA again !! If they start making the Detroit in dark brown ( called mocha now) I will buy one of those too.
