The pants look great. I really like the pockets and the overall look of the pants. However, the relaxed fit apparently only applies to below the knee. Granted I workout a lot and have larger than average legs but I size up for this already with all the pants I buy. I did the recommended fit and it said to go with the same size that I normally do with 5.11 pants. These are so tight in the thigh I can barely pull them up. Looking now at the "seat" measurement I should have gone up yet another size at least. Not sure how they are labeling these as relaxed fit and claim they give you comfortable fit through seat and thigh, yet I have to size up 2 sizes.
These are the best work pants on the market IMO. I’ve been through just about every other offering Carhartt has, and while some of the others are good (steel and rigby), these are by far the most comfortable and FLEXIBLE! They aren’t too slim but also aren’t as baggy as most of their offerings. The fit is perfect! I was lucky enough to get my hands on a few pair of Kakhi and grey but I’ve been on the email list for the olive for months now, where are they at Carhartt?! I wish they were available in more colors as these have become my daily go-to work pants.
If there is a 3.0 version in the making don’t be afraid to add even more stretch! Once you go stretch you never go back!
I was VERY lucky to have found a pair of these pants gently worn in a second hand store. They are PHENOMENAL. Hold up to all the daily abuse I put them through, and over the course of 3 years thus far (older model pants) have one TINY tear in the upper knee that came from some barbed wire fence. They fit perfectly, are very comfortable and tough as nails. LOVE em. Carhartt makes the only pants I've found that actually fit my tall skinny self. Will plan on purchasing one new pair of these a season, and will have them around for a LONG time to come.
So glad I found these pants. There awesome. I know it sounds corny but they really do move with you... way more than my usual pants. I work in metal fabrication and these have held up very well. Im currently trying to replace my old pant with these lol. They cost a little more but I feel like I really got some good quality for my money. And dirt and grease don't show as bad on these which I wasn't really worried about but is a very nice plus
Best pants I’ve ever owned. They are made with a very comfortable fabric and fit super well! I use them for work driving truck and when I get home doing projects around the house and they are perfect for whatever I need. Lot’s of pockets that are not bulky and they make bending down a breeze. Oh and they last forever. I’ve had a couple pair for well over a year and they have held up beautifully. Seriously, if you’re looking for an all around “perfect” pair of pants, you’ve found them!
Since I bought my first pair these are the only work pants I buy now. Finally wore out my first pair 2 yrs later doing Framing and Siding Carpentry. Comfortable in hot weather and easy to add thermals in cold weather. Great fit, just loose enough to move around in Trusses but, not baggy. Best work pants I've used in my 13 yrs of construction.
I've only had these for a few weeks, but I'm happy so far. The material isn't super heavy but it seems tough. They handle daily chores outside no problem. Welding will be the real test but that's pretty hard on pants. No holes or burn spots yet. They fit and move great which I need for the work I do.
I bought 32 x 32 and they fit me more comfortably than any other pair of pants I've ever bought in my life. They stay looking unwrinkled and clean for long periods of time before washing and can easily fit into a business casual outfit, but have that Carhartt ruggedness at the ready any time you wanna wear these pants shoveling cow manure or doing roofing in the rain. I'm not exaggerating to say I am greatly impressed with these pants. They do run a bit tight in the waist so keep that in mind but in my case I am slim and I usually need a belt even for 32-waist pants, but not for these ones which is a plus in my book and yet another of many reasons I love these dang pants so much! Definitely will be getting multiple pairs in the future! Ever so tight in the crotch but certainly not restrictive or uncomfortable to me, and frankly I'd prefer pants that are snug those that are excessively loose and baggy and bunch up on you. These pants get a 98 out of 100 grade from me, a solid A+ grade.
Love these pants! Light and durable. The only gripe I have is that the pockets on the legs are a touch low, if you need to squat and have any pens, flashlights, screwdrivers...etc in those pockets they may fall out.
These pants looks good--very functional but good enough for in the office. They don't scream "this guy doesn't belong in an office" like some pants tend to. The pockets are functional and the material feels good. The only drawback is the waist and seat runs a *little* bit small. I have plenty of other Carhartt pants of the same size and they fit fine. But these feel like they run 1/2-inch small and are a little tight in the seat and around "the boys." Maybe order one size up?
I just got my pair. I read pervious reviews and kept seeing that they run small. Another said they ran large. One said they shrink. I wear a 36w 32l, ordered as my size and these are tight in the waist. I am going to send back and order the 38 waist... which has me a bit nervous going two sizes up. Will let you know how it goes.
I bought these because I live in the Seattle area and wanted a pair of water resistant pants for winter. They are not very water resistant, however they are very light weight and breathable making them good summer work pants. They’re pretty baggy, it would be nice if they were a little more slim.
These fit perfectly. Light weight. Durable. I’ve been wearing carhartts for over 25 yrs. and these are one of my favorites. Very comfortable. At 6’3” tall the 34” are plenty long. Wish they had a true double front. And needs more belt loops...
I have a pair of these pants in gray that are flannel lined and LOVE them. I read that the waist size runs small, so I ordered up to a 38 (usually wear a 36) in the fleece lined pant and they fit perfectly.
I ordered these pants, non fleece lined, in the same size 38/36 and they are really tight in the waist, crotch and upper thigh. So much so that I double checked the size printed on the inside waistband because I couldn’t believe how much smaller they fit then the fleece lined pant. I noticed that one pair was made in Vietnam and the other in China. The Chinese pants were the small ones. I took them on a weekend trip without trying them on, and wore them for a day on the trip, I hope I can get an exchange.
What surprised me the most was how well they blocked the wind. It was 0f wind chill out with 20mph gusts. I was waking to pick up my kid from school. I couldn’t believe that my legs weren’t freezing. The wind was blocked by this awesome fabric. Great pants. Will buy more.
