This product is not what it used to be. I replaced my Journeyman Belt with a new one, and it has changed. The leather quality is atrocious. After I wore it once the black was worn off where it touched the buckle. When I wore it using a different hole, the same thing happened again. Cleaning mud off the belt destroyed the leather’s finish. The leather kinks and creases easily. My 7 or 8 year old Journeyman was the best belt I ever owned. Whatever the did to change it ruined it.
Wore it for 3 weeks, every day. I was in Texas and Florida. High temps and humidity, so it got sweat on. It’s just about useless. It curved and rolled and bent. My last two belts are Carhartt, so I thought this would be great, too. It is a terrible disappointment. I’ll try to soak it and somehow flatten it out, but for now, it is unserviceable. Junk.
I have yet to have a poor experience with Carhartt (as a company) or with any of its products...(of which I have fat more than ... one). I do miss the heavy-weight (winter-weight -) mock' turtleneck long sleeve - shirts. My current supple is getting worn-out here in Up-State New York.
Only word for a week so far. Cannot comment on other factors.
The one thing I noticed in comparison with my older journeyman belt is that the leather loop that catches the rest of the belt after the pin has been put in.the Staples holding the leather loop together by The buckle are a lot smaller and hope this doesn't affect the everyday use.
I have no opinions on the belt itself. It never arrived and I was forced to call customer service3 days after the expected arrive date where I was told the order was cancelled due to lack of stock. They informed me I should have received a generated e-mail telling me it was canceled, which did not happen.
Disappointed that there is no exchange program, only returns. Called to inquire and was told the person I spoke with would email me a return postage address so the postage would be paid by Carhartt. Never received the email so I will mail it myself. Seems like too much paperwork with credits, debits, etc.
I bought this belt 16 years ago when I started my electrician training. Still wear it every day. Was very stiff and black when new. Now it's almost brown and very soft. Rivits are just about worn through though. After 16 years definitely worth the money. A++
I wear a 52 waist pants and in the past have gone one size larger, (54), to accomodate the pants and waist. Since purchasing the belts, I have cut 5 holes, each one 2.4mm. left edge to left edge so the belt will be functional. I gathered that measurement from the pre-cut holes. Aside from that, the belt is a heavy duty, attractive, and comfortable.
This belt is PERFECT! It is not stitched together, it is one solid hunk of top-quality leather. It is thick -- over an eighth of an inch thick -- and an ideal inch-and-a-half wide, just right to securely and comfortably hold your pants up, but still fit thru the belt loops on your pants. AND it is sized exactly correctly.
Good belt overall. Used as an HVAC journeyman for close to a year so far. Took a lot of crawling and dragging and scraping. Belt shows its wear pretty fast but doesn't seem to be falling apart yet. For the price I'd buy another.
I’ve had my belt for 4 years and the one snap piece finally pulled off so I’m about to buy this same kind again. It’s been comfortable and I’ve worn it everyday since I only wear my jeans and I love this belt! I’m a hard worker but this belt worked harder. I don’t know how many days I’ve taken the belt off with it being soaked in my sweat and I’m still wearing it now just with a zip tie on it so I definitely recommend it to anyone especially someone needing a good work belt
The quality is ok. Not really what I expected for the price. Could have picked up a redwing belt for the same price point and had a better quality belt. Not to mention it runs too small. Only the last hole can be used. I recommend ordering a size larger than what you normally would. Disappointed in the purchase but it took forever to get here so I decided to just keep it and not send it back as I was in grave need of a new belt.
