I got this because I wanted a heavyweight hooded sweatshirt. However, last night I wore it and the temperature was 55 degrees and breezy. I was cold even though I had a sweater under it. I was looking for, and need something heavier.
Love these sweatshirts. I'm not a fan of the hoody version as the hoody falls forward and over you head anytime you bend down to work on something. The quarter zip doesn't give you that issue and the heavyweight is soft, warm and comfortable. I bought a several in both black and blue to wear in place of a light jacket or as a layer under my heavy Carhartt jacket. Waiting for the grey to get back in stock as well.
This fit''s great I'm a bit heavy built the quality is exactly what you would expect from Carhartt. I definitely recommend this Quarter- zip. I live in northern Nevada and this protects from wind and cold when wearing a undershirt.
I LOVE the Rain Defender. I used to buy cheaply made (thin) yet expensive NFL hoodies. That was three years ago. Today, I buy nothing but the Rain Defender; preferably with the quarter zip collar. They last a long time, cover my butt, and are heavy material yet comfortable to wear. Thank you!
I like the sweatshirt, but I'm not sure why Carhartt chose to use a draw cord bottom instead of a stretch cuff like the hooded version. The draw cord lock is so weak it won't hold even tight when there is zero pressure on it.
LOVE this sweatshirt so much! I purchased one in the Carbon Heather color and came back to buy another in the Navy color. It’s very well made, durable, warm, easy to care for, and quite sharp looking !!
