I love Carhartt shorts. I also have had the b147s. I wish the colors names were more standardized throughout the different products lines (desert looks the same as dark khaki). I especially would like lighter colors like tan from the b147 line as a choice for the b357s.
I purchased these shorts at the beginning of the summer and they quickly became my favorite. The pockets are perfect to hold markers, screwdrivers, and just about anything else. They are lighter than I thought they would be and are very comfortable.
I can't knock the quality of the product , seem like their usual quality. But there is a reason I rarely order anything on line without being able to try them on first. I have a cpl pairs of their pants. 39/8" waist and they fit exactly as I want them to. My wife ordered these, same size, thinking they would fit the same. NOPE. They "fir" but are far from comfortable. Maybe they are just more accurately cut now. Idk. But I do know that they are NOT the same size as the pants I own. I'll be sending them off to the Goodwill with the next batch of clothes I have going there. Just annoying because you would really expect sizing to be consistent from a manufacturer. I am not saying I wouldn't buy shorts from them again cause I MAY but I won't buy anything on line again. The wife ordered them for me from another retailer but the size is the size. That won't change if they are ordered directly or through a reseller. Oh well. As I said, the quality is good but the size is off from pants I have from them... I guess there is a chance they we're mislabeled but either way I would never order on line again. My advice is to find them in a store and try them on first. Don't count on the fact that you have shorts or pants from them already.
I have purchased these shorts several times in the past and have found that they last longer than others. The fit seems good. I’m in construction and they take good abuse during the warmer months and last several seasons.
I spend a great deal of my time camping and practicing bushcraft. I am a wood worker, blacksmith and leather worker and I use a lot of hand tools. I have been wearing Carhartt pants most days for more than a decade and I have never found a product that out performs them when you compare durability, protection, design, comfort, convenience and price. The ripstop material used by Carhartt is light and breathes well in the hot dry climate and is exceptionally tough. They also seem to repel water to some extent. A great product.
surprising cut resistance as well as rip stop. Relatively cool compared to the same weight in Duck or Denim, superior stain resistance. Recommend you button and zip and turn inside out for best washing results.
Excellent quality. Surprisingly wrinkle resistant.Especially like the snaps on the cargo pockets. Keeps my phone and cards safe.I WISH MY SIZE (W34) WAS AVAILABLE WITH 9" INSEAM.I am not very tall, and the 11" inseam is too long, looks funny.
I work outside all summer flying hawks, so I need clothing that can stand up to blistering heat and humidity. I’d been wearing your regular cotton canvas shorts which were OK, but I was looking for something with a little more backbone. As my wife says, I like clothing that “stands up by itself,” and these Ripstops fill the bill nicely. Tougher than wolverine jerky!
Best shorts made for construction but also every day wear
Great shorts. My son (a superintendent for a major home builder) only wears these ripstop shorts because they last for years, the pockets are deep and strategically placed so they r easy to use (such as retrieving a cell phone). Great June birthday gift.
Good quality, but the sizing seems small. I’m a bigger guy. I am lose in 44” pants so I wear them with a belt and it’s just right. With these, I’m barley able to button them and the crotch rise as well as the butt area seem short and small. Also, there isn’t any flex to the fabric, so high stepping is difficult unless you hike them up higher than they want to naturally be.
