Very comfortable and warm. These boots have room for warm socks. They have kept my feet dry and happy the past winter, Im very happy with them and am looking at another pair of Danders because I like them so much.
They are good quality boots but the one boots seems to rub on my ankle wrong depending on what socks I wear under them. I replaced a pair of timberland pro winter boots with these hope they last as long as them!!
Extra width due to insulation layer, a little bulky to get used to on the job/driving etc. Comfortable out of box, tread good on ice and snow. Mid-level warmth so good transition indoors/out, get cold in sustained 20• weather. Run big, so room for thick socks. They are lightweight and sturdy. Chose to waterproof with beeswax which heavily darkened from a tawny and dry soft suede-like feel and orange stitching but didn’t want to test for waterproof. I usually prefer Vibram soles and simpler design as extra stitching can be weak spots but these seem quite well made and I’m overall satisfied and unconcerned with potential wear from carpentry and shop.
So far this has been a comfortable boot. It's relatively broke in from beginning, so wear in has been nice. The lace hooks have a nice solid feel, and firm hold on the laces, just make sure you really pull them into the hook.
I have two small annoyances; the tongue doesn't quite open far enough for my liking, so getting them on and off at that point where my heel is about half way up the back is pretty tight for me. The second is the tongue is a little wimpy, so the laces really dig into it. I'm slightly concerned how this will affect long term use.
So if the tongue holds up to the laces digging in, I'd buy another pair when these wear out.
So far so good , I've only worn them 3 times ,I just got them. At times of inactivity ive noticed my toes would start to get cold but thats to be expected. When im active my toes are nice and toasty. They are comfy good investment for those who work outside like me they're great
I took these boots with me to work indoor/outdoor logistics warehouse in Antarctica during the winter. I wore them working as a ranger on the Oregon Coast and they were fantastic with good waterproofing and not slippery in the mud. I found the boot to be solid, durable, well made, and comfy when the temperatures were above 25 degree F. When the temperatures were between 0 to 25 degrees F, the toe box became cold after about 2-3 hours outside. Below zero was the biggest problem and I could not last much longer than 1 hour outdoors. My feet sweated and that moisture never evaporated thus leaving me with cold feet. I tried them once at -30 degrees F but ran back inside and got my company issued non-composite toe polar boots. All-in-all these boots were acceptable and very useable in general and I would buy them again but know they won't keep my feet warm in extreme temps.
I will never buy a Rocky boot again. I’m a lifer now for Danner boots. The Crafter composite toe boot is the most comfortable boot I have ever had worn. There is no toe rub on my feet any more that I hated with other steel toe boots I have worn. This boot fits like a glove, I love them. I’ll be buying the same pair again when this pair wares out.
I have own and used a numerous different kinds of boots but my Crafters have exceeded my expectations. I will continue to use Crafters in my day to day activities and work life. Very comfortable and supportive.
Wore them the first day out of the box in cold weather and I couldn't believe the comfort or warmth. Had a stretch of -20 plus and these boots kept my feet warm! The best thing is the comfort, I have a bad ankle and these boots support my leg and ankle in a way that nearly alleviates that pain from it. To top it all off Danner sent me a free pair of inserts after I lost one! Love this company and their products. I have 4 different pairs of Danner.
I just bought these boots this fall. I have worked outside for 21 years and never had a boot this comfortable, warm, and dry. So far I haven’t had to wear my winter socks with these boots as my feet are comfortable in normal socks. Also I was a bit nervous about composite toe boots, but like the previous poster said they don’t get cold like steel toe.
Ideal winter work boot. Warm, dry, almost zero break in time. I’ve only been wearing them for a about two months so we will see how long they hold up. So far so good. I had a 500lbs old steam boiler fall on my toe when we were moving it out of a farmhouse basement and there was barely a nick on the boot. Plus the composite toe doesn’t get fridgid like steel toe in the winters up here in New England. Very happy with Danner. I have several different styles of their products!! Keep it up
