This is our third pair of Danner Crafter 8" work shoes.. they are the BEST..wear well, comfortable, fit to a tee and will order more when these wear out. Thank you so much for making these GREAT shoes.
I had the danner Vicious 8" before buying these boots, for 2 years, And I loved them! So I decided to give these a try. They look decent, except the toe area looks funny. But with my previous positive experiences with danner I said "why not" I regret it, after day one I was hurting. Maybe it's just the brake in. If I could return these I would
Good looking boots. So far have kept my feet dry. Feels like they will be pretty durable. Had a small issue with my right boot digging into my ankle some. Not sure if that was due to how tight I tied them or not. Overall not too bad.
Once they break in, it’s a very comfortable work boot. They have nice ankle support and I can wear them all day. They are flexible and so far they can take a beating. They do well in the various environments of the Construction, maintenance, and remodeling world. Some people prefer shoes but being in the military I know the value and the work load a good boot can do for you. For me, so far they are exactly what I wanted and needed, plus they look good in action. These are my first pair of Danners, I’ve never tested in a military application, but I’ve always heard good things, and so far they are the best work boot I’ve owned.
Great boots, I currently have 3 pairs. Two composite toe for work and another pair of soft toe boots for when I ride the motorcycle, feet stay dry and very comfy, and great for hiking off the bike. The only working shoe I’ll buy!
Left boot rubs hard on my ankle bone;right boot initially had a clicking noise in arch area now clicking has stopped and arch area is rubbing blisters on my foot;I had always heard good things about danners but I’m not impressed
These boots are the most comfortable I’ve ever worn and I’ve worn many a boot in my time. Crafters are light and very supportive of my ankles and heels, my feet feel great after a 12 hour day. Most of all these boots look great!
Normally wear wide boots. These were extremely wide, had to put another thin insole in to snug them up, also heel support was mediocre. Extra insole helps the heel pain I was getting after only a week Of wearing them. Very comfortable now after my fix though
If you don’t mind having soaked feet all day, these boots are for you. Comfort is great, when working in the shop on equipment all day you don’t even notice the concrete. If you get out in the field early when the morning dew is still on you better be prepared for completely soaked feet. Pretty sad when the boots are less than 5 months old.
Oh man! I have been a radon technician for 7 years. I have searched for a comfortable boot that can hold up and my search has ended with these boots. What an awesome boot! Thanks for making them danner. I will be coming to you for my future boots.
Overall fit was great but the boots are incredibly hot. I cannot wear them through a full day. Also, every step sounds like I am walking on an old wooden floor in a haunted house. Both boots make a creaking sound.
I would have returned them if I hadn’t worn them day one on a job. Unimpressed with Danner lately. Things have changed.
The boots feel a little loose. Because of issues with my legs and feet, I tie the boots on very tightly to give my feet support, and I have a brace that I wear inside of my left boot. Like I said, these feel a little loose but I am going to continue to wear them, because they are the only other boots besides the Styker Bolt that enables me to walk with my issues. Thanks.....Rick Branka.
When they say toe room they mean it. When they say cushion they mean it. These boots have saved my feet and gave me the opportunity to continue working. I really wish they had a non-waterproof lacing version for hot weather but otherwise they're perfect. Thank you Danner. And if you could add an 8 inch lace up unlined NON WATERPROOF hot weather crafter to your lineup I would definitely buy a pair.
I'm recovering from back surgery, and for more than a year both my legs have been in constant pain & weakness. The HEELS set to low for my flat feet and just compound to the problem. There a nice boot for people who have high arches. Just not me,
These are durable and comfortable, I also have a set of Quarry. These boots do not disappoint me. I had trouble with knees, hips and back. Since I have been wearing Danner boots I do not have these issues anymore! I have been wearing them for years now and plan to continue for years to come!
I bought these boots because I work in the moutains all day long and danner is simply the best. But little did I know the boots would not hold up for more than a couple of months they soon rip along the side. I figured it was because I walk up and down steep slopes with my feet going sideways. But they were almost perfect with comfort wise. Just the leather riped from the sole but I would recommend them for someone who doesn't need a workhorse boot extreme environment.
I was use to just buying throw away boots for work but got tired or wasting money every few months. I heard about danner and chose the crafter work boots non insulted 8". Man these are boots. The feel , the look and the durability are top notch. When i pick up or put on my old boots they feel like toys now. I have thrown all my other foot wear away , i will only buy danner now. I work doing siding, doors and windows and gutters. My next purchase will be the powderhorn boots for outdoors.
I've had these boots a couple weeks and they haven't been nearly as comfortable as other brands. Today was the first day with wet cold weather, my feet were wet and cold all day. I wouldn't recommend these to an tradesman.
great work boot true to size and width was looking for a non insulated waterproof boot and danner was the company offering it as one competitor put it to I was in the wrong season looking for this boot
Felt too wide in the toe. I bought another pair of Workman GTX's, which I do like. This review is not a knock on Danner, I am a huge fan. These just didn't fit me well. I think in steel toe, the fit would be good. About 2 weeks after I bought my GTX's, the original Workman was brought back. That is the most incredible boot I have ever worn in my 30 years as a machinist. I wish I had been a couple weeks later in getting this pair.
I bought these shoes when my other pair of boots started to slip in the snow. I had spent at least an hour before trying these on. When I did they felt a little odd the arch support was more than I was used to, TRUST IT, incredibly supportive shoe. I have never owned a more comfortable pair of shoes. I can stay the whole day on my feet without the slightest bit of soreness or fatigue. I can't acclaim to their slip resistance to Oil, but I've worn them through a Montana winter and the snow and ice couldn't scare me less. I don't even see any wear in them after a year. My only gripe with them is that they get too hot to casually wear in the summer, but I only have thick cotton socks, and I tend to melt once temperatures get over 90 degrees.
I broke my ankle badly several years ago and ever since I have had ankle pain and had to wear an ankle brace. I got these boots in 8" and immediately I have not had to wear my brace since. I have owned these boots for 3 months and they are still the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. I am a tradesmen and wear these boots from the minute I get out of bed until when I get back into bed. My ankle has never felt better since I broke it.
My only disappointment with them so far is that where the side of the boot molds into the sole of the boot they're starting to come apart. I would recommend these boots if you do heavy work in the woods or rocks or perhaps construction where the nubuck might get cut, but otherwise they are extremely durable and I would definitely buy these boots again if I could go back.
I have been working in a woodshop with a cement floor 10 to 12 hours / day. My feet were so sore I didn't think I could keep doing it. My feet, especially my little toes, were swollen. Went to the store and bought these boots. Put them on when I got home. Went back to the shop and finished that day. Didn't have to break them in. They kept me going. Most comfortable boots I have ever worn. Love the way the heel fits. Nice toe room.
I work in a warehouse and stand on a concrete floor during the day. These boots are comfortable and fit great out of the box. I wore them the whole day the first day I used them and my feet felt great at the end of the day.
