They held up nicely during a 2 week FTX mid summer in a wet muddy swamp. My feet stayed dry. I do not wear a wide in any boot however in these I wish I would have gotten a wide. The toe box is extremely cramped and tight. The metal eyelets have zero cushion under them so when you tighten your boots it digs in around your ankles creating pressure hot spots. \nGood- once you get past the anaconda level comprehension in the toebox the rest of the insole is actually quite comfortable with great heel support. The fit and finish is what you would expect from danners, high quality and built to last. For the love of all things holy if you buy these boots do yourself a favor and get a wide. Then the soles fell off of both boots the same day. During that 20 year period, they were the best fitting boots that I have ever worn. I have developed arthritis in my feet but I still enjoyed wearing them. One very important feature for me is that when I put them on, my heel always felt like it was being sucked down into that part of the boot. It was held very firmly which gave me unmatched stability. These boots are perfect for 3 season wear. I have not had them on a long hike yet but wearing them around a bit they seem to be comfortable enough to hike all day.
