Explorer 650
I love almost everything about these boots, no break in time needed. It’s one of the few boots wide enough for my feet. I just finished the sportsman lake trail in Yellowstone going over electric pass. No blisters and no sore feet. The only reason I didn’t give a 5 Star is because some of the stitching came apart on the side and it looks like it will unravel before the bottom is worn out.

After trying out the Caprine boot i wanted to try a better version for big hikes for my photography. If i break an ankle where i hike in the desert in australia fair chance i could die. So i need to have the best and the 650 is that boot first big run was up Bluff Knoll 1098 metres of step accent and decent and i was stoked by how they performed. The most important i've found is the decent the strain it puts on your toes can come back to haunt you after a big climb. They were excellent for this ! I'm so happy with all my Danners 3 pairs of shoes and i even got the thong's which are great too , thanks heaps danner just eyeing off som ecasual sneakers now for home and going out .

The Love of my Life
I bought these boots a couple years ago and they are so comfortable they instantly became my everyday shoes. I shortly started working on farms, traveling around and they continued to hold up, without my feet being sore or giving me a single blister or ankle problem. When I spent a winter working in the Hawaiian jungle, my coworkers boots grew mold while their feet pruned and they got athletes foot. I was comfortable, and my boots took a beating every day without breaking a sweat. I adore these boots, they've taken me over literally thousands of miles, across lava rock, mud fields where friends lost their shoes, sand, snow, rivers, and highways. Theyve been stomped on by people, dogs, birds, sheep, cows, chewed and peed on by goats (they were only able to eat the laces), and they're still the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever worn. They pick up scratches and I periodically apply shoe goo to maintain them/keep occasional cuts from peeling but that's the only maintenance or protection they get . I will never throw them out, they simply carry too many memories. One day when it's time I'll retire them and buy another pair.

My Favorite Pair of Boots
I hate to admit it... but these are my favorite pair of boots. I'd rather wear these than my expensive Zamberlan's or my Red Wings. They're as lightweight and comfortable as a pair of sneakers, while providing the support and grip of a great pair of hiking boots. And, they look great for just everyday wear. I take them for day hikes, backpacking, or just a even trip to the store.

The shoes is very comfortable
The shoes is very comfortable but a little on the narrow side. I was afraid of going to a wider width that my feet would be swimming in the shoe. All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase.

This is my first pair
This is my first pair of Danner shoes, and I love the look.
The brand that I wear the most is Oboz, and I was able to try those on at REI before buying, something I wasn't able to do with the Danners. They are both "the same size", but the Danners are narrower in the forefoot and the arches in the insoles do not seem to be placed the same from the right foot to the left. The left shoe arch feels noticeably further back than the arch in the right shoe.

This is not a review but a suggestion.

The color was called brick red but they are more maroon in color. The shoes are great.
