Sturdy, warm and comfortable throughout a 5-day pheasant hunt.
I wore my older Pronghorns pheasant hunting in Northern North Dakota last fall. They stood up to the nastiest cattail swamps and kept my feet warm, dry, and comfortable all day. After five full days of constant walking, I could’ve easily done another five. I had to order myself a second pair!
My 4th pair of Pronghorns & love ‘em! They fit right out of the box & require no break in. These are no different. Also really good in wet grasses pheasant hunting but eventually do get wet. The boot toes take a beating in the field grasses & wish they had kept the thick black leather as toe protection but plusses far outweight any minuses! Scheels also had the best price I could find! Fast service too!
Great deal on a hard to find size wise boot. No shipping charges. Please continue to provide boots that are good quality, hard to find, and inexpensive. I use these boots extensively in the field for work. Thanks again for being there. John
I wore them the first time turkey hunting a couple weeks ago and the tongue of the boot rubbed on the top of my foot and it was very sore by the time I was done hunting. But the next day I put on a heavier pare of socks and everything was fine. They're plenty stiff and will require a break in period that's for sure. But overall for the price and comfort I'd buy them again.
This is my third pair of pronghorn boots. Two which are the 400g.Best boot for cold weather Elk hunting, or the goose pit. And the pronghorn uninsulated are excellent for warmer weather hunts. Can't go wrong with Dinner. Have also had other Danners which I wore in very wet construction jobs for twenty years.
Best boots I have ever worn. For the money in my opinion, can't be beat.
I would defiantly recommend to anyone. Love the fit . Danner made the toe area wider and they feel great even with two pair of socks. Excellent soles for climbing in rough terrain. Couldn't be happier.
Have not had a pair of Danners for years, always the best quality. Scheels always has a good sale on these. First pair of Danner boots I every owned lasted 15 years, old world quality and reliability, can also be repaired.
I still wear the original Pronghorns from 15-20 years ago and love them (but Goretex losing effectiveness). The newest Pronghorns have changed in several ways; I needed to go down 1/2 to 1 size to get the same fit. Also the boots have gotten a little wider with less arch support and less depth in the toe box, but If I get half the service of the original Pronghorns they will still be a real value, particularly at the Black Friday bargain price.
