On my second pair of boots now, first pair saved my foot when a drill rod fell off a trailer onto the toe. Boot toe got smashed, my toes did not. Without a doubt the most comfortable boots ive ever owned and saved me from being out of work for 6 months. Great boots and i highly recommend them
I bought a pair of these after my old wildland fire boots started giving out one summer I literally ripped the tag off before leaving the shop to go to Idaho so I didn't have a chance to break them in before putting them to the test. They broke in quick no issues the gor tex was a tad hot but was nice crossing creeks, not great for 90 weather but do able there better for colder weather in my opinion but I can’t complain they did what I needed them to do
Very comfortable once I got them broke in to my feet. I'm a little disappointed in the lower part of the sole has already started to separate after like 3 weeks of normal work. I have a shoe cobbler in my area who can take care of it but it shouldn't have separated that quickly to begin with...
I have to start off with, thank you Danner for still making top quality products!! The last pair of boots I bought from Danner were 8” Quarry in Black, 7 years ago. Still have them, and wear them. I have always done construction, and the only complaint or improvement I would love to see. Is optional toe caps, steel or composite safety to is great. But an outside over the toe cap, to keep from wearing holes through the toe would be a huge improvement. So as a 20-30 dollar extra, or whatever is fair. That said, I will only wear Danner work boots! Best boots made, I tell people how comfortable mine are and how durable they are. Thanks Danner, keep making one of the last truly great work boots available!
No doubt the Danner Quarry is a high quality boot. But it doesn't come close to the Danner Tinner I had for 25 years that I was trying to replace. The Tinner was much more comfortable, the leather was supple and flexible (even new out of the box) The Quarry is stiff and hopefully will eventually break in. I sure wish I could buy the Tinner again, but alas, it's been discontinued.
I’ve bought these boots for years with no problems at all. This last pair I ordered the quarry just like I always do in the same size and width. They feel so much bigger than normal. Feel real loose on my foot
I am very pleased with this pair of Quarry boots. As an owner of 7 other pairs of other Danner boots I have been extremely happy with the quality, durability and comfort of products. I have never had an issue and when I did Danner rose to the occasion and replaced, repaired or recrafted the boots to like new condition. I am a 20 year Danner customer and appreciate the ability to purchase properly built, quality products made in the U.S. Thanks Danner
I waited for the boots on back order for a month. They were sent with no in soles. I called customer service and they said 1.5-2 more weeks before I would get the soles. I asked if they could speed it up because I needed the boots. They said no that was the best they could do. I previously owned the danner craftsman and they came apart. They were out of warranty so danner gave me 30% off to purchase new boots. I ordered the quarry hoping I would get a higher quality boot if I spent more. I believe Danner has lost sight of their quality control. It is not like it used to be. The boot was nicer, but no good without in soles.
This is an excellent boot. It has a very solid foundation with a good sole. The leather quality is the best. I am still breaking in the boots. They clean up well. I find be the boot easy to get on and off, with little loosening of the laces. I can imagine that as the leather ages, the boots will fit even better. The solid toe makes these boots excellent for my needs. Overall I would recommend these boots to anyone who is shopping for the quality of boots that Danner offers. My choice every time for their comfort and quality are Danner boots.
I like how light they are and how comfortable they are. But the size chart was off and they are too small. Toes are Rubbing. I put in my size for Nike metcon 4. On your website but it gave me the wrong size.
I personally love these boots. I work in the aeronautics industry for a major aircraft manufacturer, and needed a lightweight, yet strong pair of steel toe boots. I found the perfect pair here, with the composite toe which makes them lighter while not sacrificing on strength of the toe guard. They fit perfectly and quality is top notch. They are a little stiff at first, but that is always to be expected with quality leather. They fit well around the feet and don’t slide around while you walk at all. They are overall a very solid pair of boots that I can tell will last for years or possibly decades to come.
I'm really pleased with the boots and the service. I had a pair of Grit Stones and they failed, so Danner gave me credit on their wed site after I sent the old boots in, which Danner payed to ship. I ordered the Quarry and have been really pleased so far, they got here in fast and Danner was fast in their service. They did scuff on the toes a little bit but not bad. The Vibram soles really collect the dirt then drop it in the house, but they give good traction. The boots do stretch a little bit so it affects the fit but it is not that bad. I would recommend the Quarry, to my friends and family.
First time buying Danner boots and quite possibly my last. Went to a local shop and was properly measured and sized. When I tried the boots on I mentioned they were a little tight and was told they just needed broke in. I understand boots need broke in but they were uncomfortable for a good 6 months. Two years later they are still not very comfortable. Maybe 8 months after owning these boots I had to return them to the shop since the insole was starting to separate at the toe and the stitching was coming undone on the other along the side. The local shop had repaired the boots and I was back in business for another couple months till the stitching started to come undone AGAIN in a new place. The first repair they made it sound like the boot was barely fixable but they have barely been worn. Now they no longer repair boots.
I don't wear these boots often since like I said they are uncomfortable, but I am NOT pleased with these boots. This is the first time I have felt like I didn't get my monies worth out of a pair of boots
This is my second pair first pair were great. Almost no time to break in. I walk a lot on uneven rock. Spend all day on my feet. These boots work well. The only problem is the laces had to be replaced on day one. They are to thin and come untied easy. And after a few weeks the break. But overall great boot and will stand up to a lot of abuse.
Hands down, these are the best boots I have ever owned. I'm a retired telephone guy from Michigan and have had my share of boots. Wished I had gotten these years ago when I was working. This will be the last pair of outdoor boots I will own.
Amazing boots, super comfortable and provide a ton of support. The boots feel super light on my feet. Anyone out there who is concerned about the weight of these boots don’t be. The waterproofing is legit as well. One concern is the leather is showing scuffs/minor tears around the toe box. I kinda expected this though as I work as an arborist and absolutely demolish any boots I wear.
Very comfortable and well worth the price. They are well cared for and oiled routinely. Like others have stated the leather on my first pair cracked too at just over the 1 year mark. Fortunately danner did replace. Hopeful to get more life out of this second pair.
I purchased as a gift for my son, a machinist on his feet all day. He said that these are the most comfortable work boots he has ever worn. Great customer service AND made right here in the good ole USA. Great value, craftsmanship, and comfort! Will buy another pair for his BDay! Thank you for producing a great product and one that’s made in the USA.
I love this boot! I’ve been. Using them for over ten years. Just wish they came with the DCS insoles I have them in a pair of these boots that are two years old and they are the most comfortable boot I own! I use them when I’m hunting, fishing, cutting firewood and every day for work.
General: First off, 4 stars does not mean there is anything wrong with the Quarry boots, they are as good as Danner says they are. In my opinion though, they are a "jack of all trades" style of boot, as there are others in the Danner, and competitors', line ups that are either more comfortable, more affordable, weigh less, etc. Be honest with yourself about what you need from your footwear. Comfort, durability, low price: you can only have two. Comfort: Break-in required to achieve a "normalized" boot feel. They are slightly tight at first. The soles are stiff. I did not experience any pinching, rubbing, hot spots, or fatigue though. They are simply just a stiff boot. Quality: Stitching is solid. Leather is uniform throughout. Eyelets will be the last thing to let you down. Laces; to be seen. Overall great look. Longevity and waterproofing will depend on your maintenance of the boot. Prior experience with Danner's boots leads me to say with a great level of certainty that they will last me for years to come. Note: I would advise anyone who buys Vibram sole boots to invest in a good pair of inserts as the soles have little to no cushion. They also transfer heat and cold very quickly. On the up-side, they provide a solid foundation for each step, which to me is important.
This is my first pair of Quarry boots, I’m impressed. The fit was perfect right out of the box. I wore them for a 5 mile walk right away without a pain or pinch. I really like the extra length laces that Danner supplies. Unlike a lot of manufacturers, that skimp here, they send laces that are nice and long. I highly recommend these boots to anyone looking for a work boot as well as all around boot.
They are good boots overall. Not much break in time required and they are exceptionally comfortable for long days on your feet. They seem to be fairly durable as well. The heel takes some getting used to, my shins were very sore for the first few days I wore them but overall they are very good boots !
The boots are great like normal, second pair I’ve bought in the last two years, because of having 4 news hounds lol,but this pair the left boot toe cap leather is chipping off more then the right,an more than normal for the quarry’s(only 8 weeks in),but same danner fit an feel, best boot comfort-wise out of the box, leather just isn’t holding up to the mild conditions like I’m used to.
I’ve had them for about a month now and I wear them at least 5 days a week logging approximately 10k steps each day. They are very high quality boots. The fit is true to size. The leather does take a bit to get good and broke in. For the first week I applied Kali Leather Life lotion every day to help. Great boots
Purchased in July 2020. Very good boot, fit true to size as other brands that I have bought over the years. I wear them 12+ hours a day 7 days a week in a plant that is all concrete, several ladders and steel grating. I did purchase Danner insoles when I purchased boots for extra comfort. Definitely would purchase again, although the price is on high side. Get what you pay for and the boots are made in USA which means something these days.
