Danner's proven stitchdown construction method is what gives their most iconic styles both, durability and aesthetics - something Danner have been perfecting since 1932. Built in the Portland, Oregon factory, the San Angelo is a classic take on 360-degree snake protection. Lightweight, yet sturdy, it's perfect for getting work done around the property or for serious hunts that can't be limited by snakes in your path. Soft leather lining and the ability to adjust fit at the calf and over the foot means you stay comfortable in varied terrain even when the temperature rises.

Great boots, however the right foot boot is slightly smaller than the left where the buckle strap is so getting it on is almost impossible. Once on they are great. I was going to return them, but needed x Sc make protection that day and didn’t have a choice.
As some other reviews noted, the boots are VERY tight and initially hard to get on. However, once I have put them on a few times and worn them, they are starting to loosen up. I suspect the initial tightness is by design so the boots don't end up loosing up too much and fitting poorly. I am still breaking the boots in but I definitely recommend: thick socks and moleskin for the blisters, applying a large amount of neats foot oil to loosen the leather up, and finally wetting the boots and wearing them dry (this will help the boot mold to YOUR foot).
I love the boot and the quality but unless you have extremely large calves they tend to be way to big. I wish they offered a smaller calve size boot bc it’s truly an amazing quality boot. I can’t be alone on this opinion
I am disappointed in this boot and have returned it to Danner. It did not fit properly (the right boot was too small in the toe box and the left boot was too large). I have owned and worn the Chippewa All Leather Snake Boot for almost 40 years (three or four pairs) and thought I would try this Made in the USA product since Chippewa appears to have stopped making the boot I prefer. I applaud Danner for trying here, but this boot does not even come close to comparing favorably, except that it looks similar to the Chippewa round toe boot with the ankle strap and side strap above the calf. The materials in this Danner boot are not substantial; the strap buckles are poorly designed/very difficult to use and the upper part of this boot is so large in the calf area that you cannot tighten the strap enough to close the massive gap (my calf size is 18 inches, not what you would call skinny). The one positive feature is that the foot bed felt supportive but comfortable, my only reason for the two star rating. Adding insult to injury, it took UPS 10 days transit time in both directions (a total of 20 days in shipping) and Danner states that "it may take them two to four weeks to process a return and credit an account." Sorry, that is not acceptable service here in the 21 century. I would not recommend this boot for snake protection or any other application.
Had a horrible experience with shipping and canceled the order. The customer service rep made it right. Offered a great discount and I re-ordered. Fantastic boots! Worn Danners for 3 decades. Thank you!
Ordered 10s and returned for 9.5s. I where a 10.5 in most brands of 'tennis shoes'. Broke them in dove huntin this past weekend, absolutely love these boots. Feel like air jordans, I could wear them all day.
So far so good, except rubber being a little soft on the bottom. My toe grabbed a tree branch when stepping over and it gouged it pretty good. The tread pattern also collects gravel like crazy. Always get a rock stuck in my boot walking across the ranch parking lot. Would also prefer a wide square toe as they give more room for the toes.
