These are good work boots. They are well made. They are heavy and a bit stiff but that’s the nature of a boot that offers this much protection. The only thing that seems like it could be a problem down the road is how thin the leather seems to be on the toe. As the name of the boot may imply, steelyard, I bought these for welding. I am around a lot of steel with sharp edges and pointed corners. I noticed that after only a few days of wear I had managed to gouge several good places into the leather on the steal toe. I wish they would have made this surface more durable on the Steelyards because of the work environments they might encounter. Overall, my feet could not feel more protected and the metatarsal guard over the top of the foot repels all sparks and slag from welding, grinding, and cutting. Give them a try if you are in need of that level of protection for your feet.
I have been waiting to review these boots for weeks. I really want to love them, but they are very uncomfortable. I was hoping they would break in sooner than later, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. The sole is very hard even with the footbed.
I own 5 other pairs of Danner boots and they are all very comfortable. If Danner made EH rated safety toe metatarsal boots out of the Rivot TFX.....I would buy that without hesitation.
