The reality is job sites are brutal on boots. Danner knew the Trakwelt had to be built to take on the abuse of the harshest sites; day after day, job after job. Constructed with a beefy Goodyear Welt that creates a stable bond between the sole and upper, the Trakwelt is designed for long-lasting durability.

I love the sturdy Danner build, the solid sole (great for digging), and the composite toe is great not just for protection but also as a "third hand" to rest sheets of plywood or drywall on... One of my favorite features though is the protective toe cap as I end up crawling around on my driveway beneath my cars a lot. The toe on most boots gets trashed way too quickly without that protection.
I would like an even bigger cap on the toe though.... More protection would be more better. Awesome boot though. I am going to put these things through A LOT!
They look like good quality boots. But honestly they are so uncomfortable. I've been wearing them around the house since I received them. The toe area feels to big. The outsides of my arches are getting dug into
As a retired Navy Corpsman boots have been in my life for the last 37 years. Danner has been my boot of choice for the last ten years. This is my fourth pair of work boots only because my feet keep growing. These are by far my favorite outdoor work boot.
Took a solid week to break in though. For the imported boots this seems to be the norm where as the made in the USA are basically good from day 1.
Toe box is wide, gives plenty of wiggle room Heel is snug Foot bed is comfortable, you can feel it is there. In a good way
Shoe laces that come with the boot are junk. Buy a second pair. I bet the 5th time I snag them on random sharp items on the construction site I’ll need a new one. Couldn’t hurt to buy some waterproofing spray since winter is coming up as well.
This is my 5th pair of Danner boots. The other pair I still own are the Crater Rim hiking boots which are amazing. Second time I bought those btw. You can tell the subtle differences between made in USA and the imported. Just be aware of that. Trackwelt are imported but I feel this will be a really good boot. I have been wearing them for about a month now.
Love these boots, great sole and I go through boots quick,I am a heavy guy and work For public works ,where we are very hard on boots,ie,concrete, sewer, weedeating, ditches, asphalt, cutback, etc you get the picture, the only draw back is shoe laces ,but in the sceme of things that ain’t spit, the sole is sturdy for us that drag our heals not hollow like other boots ,these have lasted me a year and any other boot I would get 6 months,
This is the first pair of Danner work boots I've had, so far they have lived up to the hype. They are solid and sturdy and I can wear them for a 12-14 hour day and still be comfortable. I needed to get used to the weight, they are heavier than my other work boots. If they continue to perform as they have so far Danner will have a customer for life.
It broke in really well, but at first it pinched my foot a little more than my previous boots, the 6" NMT Craftsmans. They no longer squeeze my foot, but the insole is just a little bit less soft than the Craftsmans, which means my heel hurts just a bit at the end of the day. The trakwelt is also much less flexible than the Craftsmans, but the toes on the craftsman wore through immediately and these ones are holding up well bevause of the rubber toe. Great boot over all! Sturdier, but a tiny bit less comfortable than the craftsman, which felt like wearing a perfectly formed running shoe all day.
big fan of danner boots for the last 15 ..20 years..have several pair in my closet and have no issues with them. Not so much a fan of these however. Left shoe seems tighter then then right and have created a blister or two. Hopefully they will break in sooner rather then later. It is a well built shoe.
