The original Workman was released in 2004. It was an instant favorite among tradesmen, carpenters, and other skilled workers who understood that one pair of well-made boots would outlast three pairs of mediocre ones. Today the original Workman is back, with a few improvements. Under the classic silhouette and natural leather, you'll find a completely new approach to support and comfort - one that makes the new Workman 13% lighter than its predecessor.
These boots are my absolute favorite! Nothing fancy just a solid quality boot. I ordered my second pair, after the first ones finally gave in after 4 years. I’m rough with my things too, and these boots exceeded my expectations.
I rate the waterproofing a 6.5/10. Your feet will get wet/moist after a couple hours walking on wet grass. The sole has a good tread but is very hard and therefor not very grippy. The welt started falling apart on mine. Don’t recommend this boot.
Worn for 3 months now. I’ve had a few pairs of Danners, and these seem to be the least comfortable. I had high expectations for these and the fit and wear life disappointed. From what I’ve seen so far they wear quickly when exposed to more inclement environments so I try to wear them just in the shop. They are better than most other, cheaper boots, such as the cushion and tough leather. I like the way they lace. I haven’t seen the laces wear and break from friction on the loops as I’ve seen on my other Danners. Break in for me was 2 weeks. The comfort issue comes from where the tongue meets the side wall, it’s a bit thick and you can always feel it. -Not terrible/but not good These are good for general wear around the shop when you don’t need heavy boots for serious protection, or any environment that can wear down footwear easily like mountainous terrain.
I ordered the workmen boot for casual use. I normally wear the quarry boots at work as a electrical contractor. But after trying them on I liked them so much I ordered my employees a pair. This is a very light, good looking pair of boots. I just wish they were made in the USA
Worn mostly inside for the past couple weeks and this boot has been fantastic so far! I wear these as an everyday boot for something to look sharp with jeans, etc. I purchased this style mainly because they appeared to hug the ankle and looked to be very supportive for a 6” style. I do not work in the trades but have severe overpronation and require the solid ankle support that this boot provides. Very happy so far!
Very well built boots with thick leather, they'll definitely last a long time but they're a little too roomy (width and length) for my foot and as a result, I can't lace them down tightly to fit my foot. This makes them feel a little sloppy. If you have big feet/ankles then this won't be an issue. In addition, while the sole is equally strong, it's not soft enough to grip hard surfaces well. This is especially important to me as a tree climbing arborist. Unfortunately they're too slippery in the tree which is extremely dangerous.
This is my first pair of Danner boots, and I’m very pleased with them. They’re comfortable, break in quickly, and are totally water proof. Make sure you go down at least half a size because they do run quite large.
Boots are a replacement for an OLD wore out similar set. The new ones feel good on the feet right out of the box. I miss the upper pull on loop (just a leather tab now). Hope they last as long as the old ones.
Boots appear well made and once broke I are very comfortable. However insoles are horrible had to buy better ones with more heel and arch support would have hoped for better ones for the cost of these boots
These boots need break in. Once they are broke they are great support for factory floors. I’ve been on factory floors almost 40 years and in Danners for 20 years. Pick the right boot for you and you will be okay. Keep in mind they make different boots for different uses. These are for work. They work good for that. If you buy them to hike in you will not like them.
Great boot I wear them every day working in the aviation industry, my only problem was the insole was lacking a little leaving my feet and heels a little sore at the end of the day, I will buy new insole for them soon but that add to the already high price for my feet. Still overall very satisfied.
