They were very stiff when I bought them the one tongue never seem to actually seat correctly when lacing. I think that was due to the fact that the tongue wasn't phone properly into the right hand boot. The boots are bulky but they fit well except for the fact that the one tongue doesn't tuck in properly and rubs against my ankle. The only other issue I have with them that I'm not happy with is that the soles on the boots have terrible traction. They are okay and loose snow but in mud or ice forget it they slip and slide all over the place. The 1000 gram model is just too much unless your sitting for along time up here in the northeast. Bought at a local shoe store so I was properly fitted. Craftsmanship seems pretty good compared to other boots in this price range and after trying on other brands of a similar type these felt the best,so as far as fit comfort I give these high marks. As for looks,that's subjective but I liked them (they don't look cheap) . The sole provides good traction on any surface, and walking in them is a breeze. Rember I just got them so once they break in they'll be even better, for reference I did a mile in the snow and rough and mile on pavement and wore a thin sock on purpose to see if there was abrasion or discomfort,and there was none. Also they didn't leak. I would always recommend buying shoes in person because these were not on my radar until I tried them. I do hope they hold up and I think they will based initial inspection. They are also much lighter than appear but the leather is thick and well tanned,the soles are stitched and sealed. So far I really like them. I manage a ranch in Wyoming, I put them through the test so far. Im in the snow a lot in the winter and dealing with beaver dam water in the spring. Im also in and out of heavy equipment and in wet hay fields and willows. So far they are my go to boot. I did however put two coats of snoseal on them just to make sure. It softened them up even more as well as kept my feet dry.
