Bought them for CO elk trip but didn’t draw so figured I’d get some use for the PA deer, turkey, and bear season and I’ve never felt better. I’m a saddle hunter and all day sits are no problem with the sole stiffness on these and still keep my feet perfectly dry and warm. My next pair will definitely be these or the XD with the 400 gram insulation. The store experience with Ben was great. \r\nMy disappointment is with product quality/longevity. I work in the field as an irrigation tech and encounter a variety of conditions and terrain. First thing I noticed was the insoles slide around a bit. In late September the front inside rivet for the lace, on the right boot, gave out. Once damp weather hit in early October the boots never seem to stay dry and have taken on a foul odor despite cleaning and using market \"scent eater\" products, and no other variables in my personal regimen. \r\nChalking it up to bad luck or overuse, as I've had good experience with Setters affiliate Redwing's products. They are noticeably stiffer and I suggest several shorter hikes on the trail before you set off on a multi-day trek but as they broke in - loved them. Really good under foot cushion on stoney terrain and great traction from their deep lug sole, great ankle support too. I ordered the insulated ones and non insulated my size is 11.5 wide but with insulation my toes are touching the toe box when going down hill so I have to move up to 12 wide. Before ordering I suggest taking every comment into consideration. But the soles….","text":"I got these boots about 2-3 weeks ago, knowing comfort was a guarantee. I’ve been wearing Irish setter boots for work and recreation for 6 years now so it was known I was going to be buying quality. I’ve walked probably 15 miles in these boots so far, between swampy cattails and the grouse woods these boots hold up and keep my feet dry, ankle support is top notch! Only complaint is from the very first day the soles slide around in the inside of the boot, now it drives me nuts because you pay a good penny for these boots, but I don’t lose sleep over it. I was looking for a good mountain hunting boot when these first came out. So I bought the same size boot as my work boots. This is almost my third season with these boots. The fit is perfect one thing Iv noticed. The fit of the boot depends a lot on how you lace the boots down. Iv put close to 400 miles on these boots bow hunting whitetail elk and shed hunting and ice fishing. For the price these boots are well built the tread last a lot better then the old elk trackers plus the support in the sole and rubber Rand is a major upgrade for guys who can’t keep boots nice.
