Third pair of the same boot
I really enjoy these boots. I purchase these because they do not have the EVA foam which over time separates from the bottom of the shoe. I have to add extra insoles because I’m a big guy and need a little extra support. However, it is simple yet very noticeable they did not put that little extra piece of rope type fabric at the heel of the boot in order to help pull the boot on easier. The piece of rope fabric attached at the back stay of the boot.

Well made
3rd pair. I may be using these for the next couple decades lol. Really are the most comfortable hiking boot I’ve ever worn. The ankle strap loop is how every keen should be made as it really gives a sense of stability. The midsole directly under the heel under the insert is very squishy, also in the forefoot there is a black rubber circle which is full of bounce, these 2 together make for one comfortable very cushioned step each step. & then there’s the leather, which is top notch quality. And the height of this boot is perfect, as I can wear 1/4 length merino wool socks with them no prob. Only gripe I can find is they get a little too hot at 80* or higher, almost wish there was an unlined version that was more suitable for hot weather. Keep making the USA Durand in future please.

Great Quality
I have always heard good things about Keen shoes so I bought a pair of hiking boots 7 or 8 years ago and was very disappointed when the cloth shoe lace loops (eyelets) ripped out after 4-5 months (stupid design) making the boots impossible to lace up tight. This time I looked for a pair of boots with metal eyelets and couldn't be happier, very sturdy well built boot and comfortable right out of the box..

Solid boot, but toe box tilts upwards slightly
Very happy with this purchase and the quality of this boot. Good for shorter hikes and working. Very reliable. I’ve had them for a few months and I wish I could return them for another pair, because the toe box tilts slightly upwards, and after moving/standing/hiking for a while in them, my pads of my toes start to feel not great because of the excess pressure and rubbing on them. If the toe box wasn’t tilted slightly up, they’d be a perfect boot, but I wish I went with another style so they could be used more comfortably for l anger amounts of times, and I worry if I take them on a long hike, my toes will blister.

American made
I wore basque forever until the soles started coming off. Switched to these abuse this the the only American boot left made here. Their others aren’t either. I work construction amd wear them everyday rain or shine. Lasted so long I bought another pair before their discontinued.

Comfortable, durable and ready to put miles on straight out of the box.
Best hiking boots I've worn. Very versatile. Perfect for off trail adventures, working and casual wear. Backed by a one year warranty I don't need to use but have the peace of mind knowing is available to. I doubt I'll ever find anything I like better. I wish I had another pair that wasn't water proof and a bit lighter and more breathable for certain situations. They feel very light and breathable for what they are though. I also especially like that they're American made in the Pacific Northwest.

Durand 2
Not even close to the comfort or quality of the original Durand. The boot is made with inferior materials and assembled rather sloppy. They do actually have the metatomical insole which is the only upside to this boot. The shoe strings are way too short also.

Favorite keen shoe of all time
Keen has hit the trifecta of comfort for me... most comfortable ever work boots (soles), sandals, and hikers. This is the most comfortable keen shoe I’ve ever worn (with a pair of orthotics). I own 2 pairs of the regular 12D version and love the suppleness of the leather nap, also love the ankle support strap that actually functions securing my ankle tighter (my keen Braddocks have an imitation of this, as they are stitched in place and cannot move independently from the boot itself-so maybe fix that keen, but keep it simple and streamlined). Love keen soles, as they are always so cushy and made of both hard and soft PU’s. The biggest reason that these are so dang comfortable are due to the 2 black rubber circles underneath the insole, 1 in the heel & 1 in the front forefoot. It absorbs shock and bounces you into the next steps from absorbing heel landing to pushing off moving forward. It’s really something that I love and wish that keen would add this technology into all of their shoes & boots. All my work boots from keen only have the cushion in the heel. The only thing I don’t like is the grey stripe in the middle of the sole which was kind of rubbing off on day 1, would like to see soles all 1 color. The tread on the bottom could be better, as there are a lot of gaps in between everything. I’d like to see those grippy sips added to make for better traction in slippery environments. Would love to see a all black version. Orange & black is a great color combo🥾.
