They are comfortable, I took off a star (would have been a half star if I could do that) because the crease when you take a step landed right where my toes meet my foot and put pressure. Over time that seemed to loosen up and wasn't so bothersome. They seem to be waterproof as my feet didn't get wet in a rainstorm when I was on the Eiffel Tower. These are the first real “sneakers” (soft toe, all fabric, no “safety”) I’ve purchased and they’re comfortable as heck. The asterisk is that, even though the size I wear is a 14 Wide, I wish I had gone a half or a full size up. They’re not really true to size like every leather or safety toe Keen I’ve ever owned (and I’ve had dozens and dozens). They killed my feet for a while but they have since broken in. I tested them on an 8.5 mile hike through a creek where my feet were soaked with water and red dirt/clay mud. The shoes had good traction on rocks when wet and literally rinse all of the red color and any mud right off without affecting the shoes. Finally figured out that other Keens have the same foot bed that works perfectly for me. These were perfect fit and comfortable out of the box Love how they tell you to go ahead and wear them outside during the return period. That is truly the only way to know. It’s light weight more than hiking shoes and cool for the summer season. The size seems larger a little compared to my usual size. I usually wear 9 for Keen and bought 9.
