Was thrilled initially as they were much more comfortable than any other steel toes I've tried out. Unfortunately ended up only getting maybe a week or two of use out of them before the leather tore apart from the ankle padding on one of the boots. I thankfully had some shoe glue and was able to get them back in wearable shape but I expected more durability from a respected company like Keen. The boots feel squishy, and you can actually hear the plastic when you walk. They’re extremely uncomfortable, especially for long wear. I expected a solid, supportive work boot, but these just don’t deliver. This is my second pair, and I’m betting I can get another year out of them. I’ve never conditioned the leather on either pair I’ve owned. At first I wasn’t so sure I liked 'em. However, upon breaking them in, I changed my mind! They are in fact water proof and are damn tough ( for the work I do anyways !) I wore them everyday to work for a year and a half… After I had been, incredibly hard on them and they stunk to high heaven, I ordered some new ones. I’m just as happy with them as I was the first time! They’re a tough boot! They give me good support and take a beating. The steel to has saved me quite a bit few times from what would have resulted in some busted toes. Anyways, the price it a bit high but I believe that I’m getting what I paid for, excellent work boots that don’t quit on me. . I will say that I think that the lasses could be improved . They shipped them and they were the wrong size. 3 sizes too small. They said they would send the correct pair. I had to go out of town and the replacement shoes came. Wrong size again! Customer service said they would send shipping labels to return. The email only contained 1 label and a blank one. Had to make 2 trips to the UPS store that was 30 minutes away due to the label fiasco. Absolutely no compensation was offered for their mistake and the inconvenience it caused me. And the fact I never got the boots I paid almost $200 for. Had to wait 7-10 days for a refund too. Never again would I buy directly from the website and actually ended up buying what I needed, different brand at a local store. These make for great mechanic boots and the leather holds up well against oil and grease.
