These shoes , or sneaks , are the most comfortable footware I have ever purchased . They are like this right out of the box. You wouldn’t even know they are brand new because they don’t cause any discomfort at all. Definitely my choice of sneaks . These are the wide width ones . They are not overly wide and fit very nicely. Gives you the extra room at the widest part of your feet for extra comfort .
I purchased these as replacements for my dog getting a hold of my old pair and destroying them. They're very similar to my old set. I noticed the tread on the new ones has bigger lugs, and I actually preferred the old tread a little better. These new ones seem like they're taking quite a while to break in, and my feet are feeling it. Took them hiking yesterday on some icy/muddy/sandy trail, and they held up just fine. Kept my feet dry, and gave me decent traction on the icy patches of the trail. Good shoes.
This is my seventh pair of Keens. Love the comfort and looks. I’m disappointed in the soles coming apart on Pairs #5 and #6. The black part of the sole coming unglued along the edges of the main sole. Seems to get worse with each subsequent pair.
I love the fit and feel of these shoes, but one of them leaks after just a couple of months of use. I have not hiked in them, just normal wear around town. These are not inexpensive shoes and waterproof is in the name of the shoe. Living in Alaska as the snow starts to melt, a wet foot is not what I'm looking for.
I had a pair of these and I literally walked the soles off them. They were 5 years old, but you'd never have known it by looking at the upper. And they were still as solid and supportive as when I bought them.
Buying my replacement pair was a real treat - Keen's web site is great for ordering (+1 for Apple Pay). Unfortunately I bought 1/2 size too large. I ordered the right size and now that they've come and fit perfectly, I've set up the return for the smaller pair. Setting up the return took less time than writing this review.
Not what I was expecting. This is a comfortable footware. After wearing for a week , I found them to narrow for the wide size. Still not wide enough after two weeks of wearing, my feet are sore and can no longer wear them. I gave them my best shot, just not a great fit. But they are nice!
I have weird feet - an 11 and a 9,5. Keen is one of the only shoe makers that will sell me two pairs for the list price of one. And I absolutely love the shoes. My last pair I bought two pair at a local outdoor store for their "sale" price after being tired of buying decent hiking shoes in a 10.5 that never fit either foot. I donated the left-overs to Vietnam Veterans charity here in town - and they were thrilled, too.
I bought the Targhee ll based on a reputation of having a voluminous toe box because I have a wide forefoot, I even ordered up half a size like it was suggested. On my feet, especially my left foot, the shoe is too narrow, it pinches and to make matters worse the heel is loose. Unfortunately I have already worn them outside because I thought they were going to work out. The only part of this shoe that works for me is the length, so it does run a half a size small.
I keep two pairs of KEEN shoes. One pair for general use and everyday wear due to the comfort and rugged style. The other pair I use as a work shoe and to wear during my 4 mile daily walk around my property in all kinds of weather. Best part is that they are light and my feet stay dry. I typically replace my work pair each year as I walk/hike around 1,000 miles per year and definitely get my use out of them. The comfort, value, durability and style are top notch in my opinion. I have been a satisfied customer of KEEN shoes for many years.
After thru-hiking the AT and 160 miles of the Colorado Trail and various other trails over 30 years I traditionally have had heavy, high-top boots. A fellow thru-hiker friend from 1995 turned me on to the Targhee II last year and I did a 100 mile hike in them last summer and never took them off. They were great on the trail and they are great on the urban trails as well. I'm a convert.
I have worn Keens for years. I won't even consider any other brand of shoes. Comfortable and long lasting. Other brands like New Balance or Nike tear up with only a few months of wear, but the Keens last a long time! Great comfortable shoes with durability that cannot be beat!
I have really liked all of my Keen hiking shoes (approximately 15 pairs purchased in the past 15 years). These do not have the Keen quality and comfort of previous Targhee II shoes. It is as if the quality of the materials is not as high as part versions. Unfortunately, I had to return these, and I am still waiting for the refund. P.S. I love Keen shoes obviously and have ordered a pair of Targhee IIIs hoping that the quality is better.
Keen shoes and work boots are all I have been wearing for the past 4 years, 7 pairs all in various states of wear. All pairs have been the same size. My past 2 attempts to purchase hiking shoes and work boots have taken 2 returns each while trying to replace what I am currently wearing due to inconsistent fit issues including a inner lining issue with 2 of those pair. I love keen footwear and will continue to enjoy wearing them.
I spent 30 mins at a shoe store trying on various hiking shoes. Finally went with these because they seemed the most comfortable. When I actually went hiking I found that my foot slid forward within the shoe whenever I went downhill, making them unusable. Bought these in my normal size and they seem snug.
I despise these shoes and will never buy a hiking shoe again - going to stick with trail runners.
great outdoor shoe. However, the shoe i purchased online consistently ran small and narrow. I purchased a Targhee II in a local retailer and the shoe fits well. I have never fit in a 10.5 shoe. at the most a 10. I always need a wide shoe and the Targhee II widths are too narrow even with an size 11 shoe.
I've been wearing the Durand WP shoe for years. The most comfortable supportive hiking shoe I've loved. Total comfort right out of the box and rugged enough for any terrain. Sadly it has been discontinued. I bought the Targhee II WP in 9 1/2, the same size I've always worn in Durand, which is 1/2 size up from my normal shoe size. My feet were swimming in this shoe. Returned and bought a size 9 and it was to small in length. Returned that and bought a Targhee III WP. Not at all comfortable - feels like a cheap knockoff of a hiking shoe - stiff, not supportive and certainly not comfortable. I don't know what changes are going on at Keen, but looks like I'll have to find another brand.........UNLESS you bring back the Durand original. What's the point of discontinuing a fabulous hiking shoe?
My feet have been hurting me for quite a few years and the podiatrist could offer prescription pills and advice to use soft insoles and stay off my feet as much as possible. I’m in my upper seventies and have too much to to do than sit down and wait, over h past twenty years I have tried several highly recommend high end shoes, which offered som relief but not much. My fifty plus year old son recommended I try Keen shoes. I ordered a pair online, and the afternoon they arrived I had been standing at my wood lathe for about five hours.and my feet were starting to hurt like hell. About 2pm my wife told me they had been delivered. I went up o try them on and walk around the house a bit. As soon as I put them on I knew they were a good fit. After wearing them for a short while my feet began to feel a little better. Not cured but better than before. I have been wearing my Keen shoes now for three weeks now, although my feet still hurt me a bit it is not near as bad as before. In the spring I plan to try a pair of Keen dress shoes. Until then I wear this pair all the time.
I got these for my husband in size 11, as always. He wore them today, first time, and noted that they felt small. We compared them to his old pair and they are about half size smaller. They look nicer than the same styles we got in the past, about one pair every year because he wears them every day everywhere, but they do run small. I wish I trusted other reviews. Unfortunately, the box went into recycling and he wore them so we can't return them. Make sure to try them even if you got the same style in the past.
I've had these for years. One pair is my go to casual shoe. Granted, I don't work or do extreme hiking in them. They fit .5 size small. After a few years one of te black sole pieces loosened, I glued it and it's been good to go since. Comfortable and durable. Toe box is awesome as it doesn't squeeze toes.
Targhee II it’s not made as well as the first generation. Pieces of the sole seems to want to pull off after a year or two. I have to glue them back on with monster glue. Shame. The first pair I owned lasted for seven years. However, it is still the best foot bed in the most comfortable shoe I have ever hiked in. I would buy these in bulk for my children and myself if the company offered a good discount on the third pair.
This is my 3’rd exact pair. Love the shoe. But after about 4mth they (2-pair) develop a squeak when walking. It’s loud and annoying. Feel it’s the adhesive used. Will see on this 3’rd pair if it happens again! Hope they fix this issue because shoe is great otherwise!
Targhee II is a great shoe. Just like the other 8 pair of Keens I've purchased in the last 3 years. Severe arthritis has bothered my feet for years and after searching multiple brands, Keens keep coming to the top of my list for long lasting comfort. Keep it up.
Just ordered these because my old pair was showing signs of wear after three years, Love these shoes and I wear them every day in the winter. They are great. Easy to order online and sizing is consistent..size 11 fits,,, All of my sandals, boots, and casual shoes are now Keen! If you made a shoe to wear with my suits I would but them. Thank you and I hope the quality continues for years to come.
I thought I knew what to expect when I ordered this pair of Keen shoes. I have 2 other pairs of Keens, both steel toed. Replacing an 8 yr old pair, used for hiking and 3-4 miles of daily dog walking, I wanted a similar pair without the steel toe. The comfort, fit, and looks were as good if not better than my old trusty pair without the notable weight difference. Still use my old pair for mud and snow days with my new pair reserved for fun and sun.
