This is my first pair of Keen's. I ordered them because my most recent MOAB purchase was so disappointing due to a total lack of cushioning under my foot. I could literally feel the sole's lug pattern on the underside of my feet when I walked. So I decided to try the Keen. And they are a bit better in the foot cushioning area, but not much. I expected more from Keen for the price.
Upgraded to these from the Targhee IIs which were my favorite all-around pair for heavy use over the past year. I ordered the Black Olive/Golden Brown and when they arrived, the coloring was WAY different from how it appears online.
Love Keen shoes but these are the most uncomfortable I’ve ever owned - beyond 20 pair. I always keep sandals, boots and shoes. Didn’t know till after I purchased that the wide option is gone because they have an entirely separate line for wide shoes.
Take note Keen’s comment reading size selection if ordering in UK size
I take UK size 8 footwear, but while living in Canada I learned that Keen boots (I have snow boots and trekking boots from them) US size 9.5 fits me best (that’s UK 8.5). Keen has an easy-to-miss comment on their UK website advising buyers to order half a UK size larger than their usual selection. These new hiking shoes I bought are 8.5UK size and again are the correct fit for me.
I really liked these shoes they are easy to take off and on. I have had them for 2 years and now soles are separating from the shoe, I thought these were better quality than that, I will not be buying anymore Keen shoes in the future. I need shoes that have more life in them.
I’m 69 years old and these are the most comfortable shoe I’ve had in many years. I bought my first pair at REI in Flagstaff in 2018 at the recommendation of a young man who worked there. This is now my fourth pair. Only complaint is the color being ordered doesn’t match the picture. Seems to appear the picture of the “Bungee Cord/Barack and BlackOlive/Golden Brown are backwards online. Other than not receiving the color I wanted (minor inconvenience to comfort) these shoes are great. I just hope this line of shoe won’t be discontinued.
I’ve been a loyal customer of Keens for years but I’m depressed by the recent increase in prices and decrease in quality. The shoes are no longer as comfy as they once were and they invariably fail mush more quickly than they used to. If you’re going to wear these shoes a lot then I’d suggest you look for a different brand nowadays, much as it pains me to admit that my formerly favourite brand is no longer any good.
I have bought and worn atleast 7 different pairs of Merrells. But after my last purchase of a pair of Cham Slam Luna's, I decided to give Keen a try. My last pair of Merrells started to roll to the outside right. The shoes previous to those(moab Adventurer) did not. I am pleased with these shoes. I stand on concrete 9 hours a day and use a fatigue matt insole from Mega Comfort. It is a helluva combination for comfort.
I am a lifelong Keen fan and was in need of another pair for the winter. (I like to rotate them and not wear the same ones everyday.) I ordered a pair of Targhee IIs but they were not like my previous ones, were stiffer and not as comfortable. The materials were seemingly not up to my other ones. So, I ordered these, and voila! Perfect - except for the fact that there was a large fold of extending from the top of the toe box in the right shoe that protruded onto my toe - making the shoe unwearable. I returned it thanks to Keen's no hassle return policy. I ordered another pair and they fit perfectly, are comfortable, well put together, and of excellent quality. I m very happy that Keen made it easy to get exactly what I wanted.
Two years ago I did a Rim2River2Rim solo at Grand Canyon. At that time I trained in and completed the event in a pair of Merrill hiking boots. They were the worst mistake I made. 8 of ten of my toenails turned black and eventually fell off. 2021 my two sons expressed interest in completing this same adventure so in preparation for this April event I purchased my Keen footwear. So far I have logged 56 miles of training. Absolutely love them. Not a single hotspot. No signs of a blister. The toe box is perfect. Thanks Keen for making this wonderful product!!
I have 3 pair of the Targhee waterproof shoes and other types of Keen footwear. 1 pair of the Targhee shoes has a squeak with every step. I contacted Keen with the issue and the hiking shoe was replaced without question with the required documents. I have been wearing Keen shoes for many years and with this type of customer service this is the reason that Keen is the ONLY shoe I will consider.
MEN'S TARGHEE III and targhee II are over price Targhee are great as to water proof Only differance in Targhee III an Targhee II is one is all leather 10 $ dif. Shoes strings are still issue comming untied constant (keen why havent you done something on this issue??? ((((((a thought drop price on the shoes to reasonable cost keep the same standar quality!!!))))))) I Only buy keen targhee shoes last 6 years at 2 pairs a year not cus i like keen as a company it cus its hard to find shoe that are comfortable to my feet.
After having multiple pairs of Keen boots I was let down by this pair. After the first time I wore this pair the back of the right shoe collapsed on itself and now when I put the shoe on I have to readjust it so it doesn’t happen again
