Juat got these pants and love them so far. I have the traverse and the Klash is similar but a little warmer. Really cool feature are the hooks for the shoelaces. I stepped in a snow drift and no snow ended in my shoes! The water resistant feature held up to a snow hike and stepping in the drift and no moisture made it to my base layer.
I finally broke down and paid the higher price for the Klash Pants. Glad I did !! These fit perfectly, are extremely comfortable, and the attention to detail is extraordinary. I bought the blue color, and will be going back for a second pair in another color. My only comment is regarding the phone pocket. I have an iPhone Xr which is not the largest by any means, and it just fits. It is even a little hard to remove from the pocket due to the zipper interference. Other than that, these are well worth the price.
Great hiking pants. Super comfortable. I wore them on a winter hike in the mountains and they were great. The fit on these is a little small, wear a 30 waist in the Rydr pant, but needed a 31 in these.
How great! Have them in Black and just received Pirate Blue. I sized up the blue waist 1in for synthetic long john layering. Perfect. Great secure zip closed pockets. One comment: My 12 XR in an Otter case fits fine in the RH thigh pocket. I'd prefer putting it in the LH pocket but opening is too small. Perhaps a flush, no flap zip, pleated LH cargo pocket would be more useful and preserve the look? Since the LH pocket is on the back/side of thigh, more out of the way as opposed to front of thigh with RH pocket. The RH is best for flexible (maps) or small items (compass). Moving on. Lace hooks allow sans gaters if needed. I haven't needed to open the cuffs for my backpacking boots but possibly a useful feature. I like my pants on the long side and most will abraid under my heel when barefoot. Due to the cuff zips these don't cuff well for this so I flip them from the abrasion panels. The heel area then stays off the floor. That works. Tough? I have yet to plow thru a large briar patch. Sure I'd feel the thorns but I bet these pants will hold up better than most. Water? Other than standing in it, runs right off. The HD belt loops are just that and are appreciated as are the double closures at the waist. Pant material is nice and stretchy but no too much. I have yet to feel ANY pulling anywhere when going under/over/jumping/reaching/climbing etc. Total freedom. One comment is my wife says the Blue reminds her of my mechanic pants. That is fine with me. I'd rather not look like the cover of a magazine. Up close they obviously are something different. These are by far the best cool/cold season pants out there. If you're on the fence, time to get off.
This is my second pair of klash pants. I know you can only wear 1 pair @ a time, but I didn’t want to wear out my 1st ones. These are the most comfortable pants I have ever had. I use them for hiking, work and everyday wear. They are pricey, but they are well made and I anticipate many years of service from them. They fit true to size, with some stretch for someone active. They shed wind very well and have a nice warmth to them, although they are not insulated. Think of them as a everyday, light, snow ski pant. I this case you truly get what you pay for.
I like these pants. I am wearing them right now. Not sure about their water proof ness. But the fit well and they look nice. I wish there was one place to clip my knife in. On pocket or something Over all good pants
Spectacular pant, comfortable and flexible in all the right places. I’m 6’1” and weigh about 230 lbs and finding good pants to fit a thick trunk is difficult most of the time. I’ve got 4-5 other pairs of various KUHL pants which I love and bought a single pair of these to test them out. I can’t wait to purchase the other available colors. Well designed, quality construction and they look awesome.. What are you waiting for, buy a pair now..
I would’ve not purchase the pants just looking at the website (they all look the same) without trying it on and the felt of the fabric. Took it to Alaska in Feb time; with an under-layer it’s comfortable. It’s stylish and excellent range of movements. I’m 6’0 and the 34/30 is perfect.
These are basically a substantial soft shell. They are comfortable and they fit true to size. They are a bit pricey, but the style and quality are noticeable.
Outstanding pants ! I've got two pairs of this pant and they are my go to for just about every occasion. I've had one pair for over a year now and the durability is 5 star. I wear them for every type of outdoor activity from working outside to biking and hiking. The stretch in the fabric makes them comfortable for everything. I'm 6'2 and 180lbs and wear a 34/34 and they are perfect for my long legs. The ankle cuff and boot lace clip are awesome when trekking through brush while keeping the pants pulled down over my boots. They are a little thicker so they are ideal for colder weather with a light base layer. The water resistant fabric works and hasn't failed me in over a year. Definitely my favorite pant. Highly recommend !
I am a big fan of Kuhl pants and have used various types with chaps for hunting; these Klash pants are a game changer; tough enough by themselves for hunting birds, used them on hikes in WA last month, great for all around outdoor use. I am a classic 36-32 size and fit is perfect. Highly recommend!
Very versatile. This weekend I walked the dog in the morning, hiked, then played ultimate frisbee in the afternoon in these pants. The pockets are perfect. They're light but warm and comfortable.
These pants are exactly what I’ve been searching for: tough, good pocket selection and not too expensive ... well, two out of three. Seriously you don’t often get this solid a product at any price these days.
I’ve been buying kuhl pants, for each season and occasion, for years now and they are pretty much the only pants I wear. I’m not totally sold on the jeans yet, but I may be coming around!
With simple modifications they would be the perfect pants.
I have worn these pants for a couple of years for a variety of outdoor activities. The fabric is light, yet durable and they fit well. I recommend that the thigh pocket have the zipper access on top and not to the side. The light duty zippers failed in two different pockets already but the thigh side access pocket is useless because things will fall out, especially if one forgets to close the thigh zipper all the way.
Thought that the weight and water repellency of these pants would be the ticket for winter hikes and brush busting for mushrooms. However, despite fitting perfect in the waist they were oddly tight in the crotch area. Wife liked how they looked but, no go for me. I felt a bit too "on display."
The Klash Pant is being worn as an alternative first responder uniform pant. To date, it is fairly comfortable, durable and easy to keep clean. In direct sunlight it warms up quick.
I am 5'9" and 160 lbs. and typically wear a 32/30 but ended up purchasing a 33/30 since they ended up being a little slimmer fitting. I use them for mountaineering and so far they have preformed amazingly!
My wife and I call these our Miracle Pants. She bought a pair first, mostly to wear in the rain on the Oregon Coast. She talked me into buying a pair for myself. They're a great hiking pant on a rainy day and just yesterday we discovered that they also make a great kayaking pant when you don't necessarily need dry pants with ankle gaskets. The water off my paddle just beaded up on the pants and my legs stayed dry. They're plenty warm on a cool day but they're not hot on a warm day despite their dark color. They're lightweight and seem to breath very well without letting the wind in. We're very pleased with the purchase. One of those things that you realize are worth every penny you paid for them.
I now have two pairs of the Klash and love them. I used them to summit Granite Peak (tallest mountain in Montana). They were outstanding. Very water resistant, and when water does soak into the fabric, it dries faster than I expected. I've used the pants snowboarding, hiking, and casual at work. Best pant I've ever owned by far.
The Klash Pant is awesome! They look and feel great. The venting allows you to cool down on long warm hikes and they’re built to last. I’m a big fan of these pants!
Yea, so I have worn these pants while working as Ski Patroller here in Virginia for the last three weeks. We typically experience temps ranging from 10 to 40 degrees throughout the day shift. These pants are better suited from 30 degrees and up. Great fit and seem extraordinary durable. Highly recommend for skiing or boarding on warmer days. Will purchase again, and hope they add a insulated version to their collection in the future. Highly recommend!
