The KÜHL EUROPA 1/4 ZIP SWEATER features ALFPACA GOLD fleece for performance, durability and warmth. Knitted with multi-toned yarn, ALFPACA GOLD exhibits a richness and depth not seen in other fleece.
The 1/4 zip style allows you to cool down or heat up with a quick zip, and the YKK zipper provides reliable performance.
Product is as perfect as possible. Unbeatable quality and many availaible options, product covers the entire spectrum of styles. Kuhl wool is especially awesome, equals KUIU wool in every aspect. Company personnel are especially well trained and perfect in their service.
Honestly, it's the most comfortable sweater in my closet. Great for casual and semi-formal wear, or just lounging around at home; mostly what my use has been.
Really enjoy stepping outside and not feeling a bite from the chill. Thumb-holes are a big plus! If you have young kids, consider color options over Ash. I have Ash and young kids; be on your toes unless you want to clean it often.
Mine did have a slightly unpleasant smell when it was first laundered. Once it was dry, the scent was gone. This is common with wool, so don't worry if that occurs.
Overall, I'd recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great wool sweater and doesn't mind a 1/4 zip.
A full-zip jacket in merino wool would be awesome, too! ;) (wink wink)
I bought one of these several years ago and it was by far by favourite piece of clothing to wear ever. I was wearing it everyday on end for 3 seasons because it fit so well, was nice and warm, not too hot, functioning as both casual and mid layer. I loved it so much I decided I wanted another colour but ended up buying the downhill racer because I thought it was the same. Not! Those are more regular fit and much shorter in a couple inches shorter in the body. I finally wore it right out and haven't found a new one to buy yet. I'm slim athletic, have a long body and short legs, 5'10" and 170 lbs, and would love to buy another.
Fit is perfect for trim athletic cut build. I’m 5’11” and 170 lbs with 42” chest size and large was perfect fit for me. Love the weight of the merino wool used, lightweight but still good mid season layer. Thanks Kuhl
Hola. I love Kuhl stuff and have been wearing it for years. Recently I got a few items sent to my apartment.... but then crickets. Nothing showed up. Customer service was really personable and helpful. It was pretty clear that it was either lost or stolen, so they sent out a duplicate order right away no sweat. I appreciated how good about it they were. Michael
Amazingly comfortable, stretchy and warm! Great look also! Very happy with it!! As a fly fishing guide in northern Patagonia Argentina must say its the perfect warmth and comfort for fall and spring fishing!
I have had the 1/4 zip sweater for a year now. The sweater has been washed according to directions 3 times. It still looks and fits great! I use it more for going out on the town than heavy backcountry use. It definately keeps me toasty when outside in cooler weather. I love the look! Keep the great products rolling!
great design; great fit (Medium for 6'1" 170) great feel.
Boiled wool is an impressive fabric because its light, soft, and warm. Of course, Because its boiled wool it needs to be taken care of properly. This means NO HEAT. Boiled wool shrinks with heat. So, I sweat the thing up big time and it needs to be hung up. I've got the brick red and I've worn it twenty to thirty times. I've washed it once. Machine delicate. Immediately take it out and hang it. Put cold water over the hanger marks.
Don't wash and dry it! I did, shrunk because thats what wool does. I fixed it by soaking in warm water and hair conditioner for 20 minutes, squeeze don't ring it out, stretch it and lay it on a towel to dry. Good as new!!! Very cool sweater, be prepared to take care of it.
If you are looking for comfort and quality, look no further! This is by far my go to sweater when I want to be comfortable. Very high quality and nice warmth. I love all of Kuhl's clothing and everything I have has been fantastic. Wish the prices were a little lower but you definitely get what you pay for with Kuhl. Highly recommend!
I'm 6'4 with a slim frame and the large fits great through the torso and arms. I just wish it was an inch or two longer. It keeps you warm when the temperature drops but still breathable enough that you don't get too warm when your indoors.
This sweater looks great! Color (pirate blue) looks exactly as shown in the picture.
What i like best about this sweater is the sizing. I'm 6'3" and 180. Large size is nearly always too short in the sleeves. XL is nearly always too roomy. I decided to get the XL and it fits perfect. Sleeve length is a little past the wrists. Mid-section is comfortably trim. Wish i could afford one in each color.
I'm a sweater snob and really love this one. The feel and fit is really top quality and I would expect to see this level of quality in an expensive mens shop for 2x this price. The stripes give it a Euro racer look and the contrast stitching is pure Kuhl as are the thumb loops. I got the black one and when not skiing can wear it under a sport coat in cold weather if I need to dress it up. Or just wear it with my "Law" pants and just be a Kuhl guy.
Got the blue one last year as a gift. Bought two more since and will likely get the Breen one soon. Great as a basic sweater. I've long arms so even better. I love the thumb loops. I use these sweaters as a dressy layer, a mid layer when hiking, skiing, snowboarding, sailing. You name it. They are fantastic for traveling, easy to care for and look great.
I wore this sweater constantly during months of fall LOKI sales tour to outdoor shops. I got lots of compliments on its 'just right' look. I wore the sweater all winter downhill, cross-country and back-country skiing. It was just right! Then I got caught in an avalanche on Grand Mesa nearly died and lost my pack...
My brother and friends recovered my torn pack, 1 ski and 1 pole. The pack had been ripped open and all the snacks were gone right down to the Neosporin. The bear thought my sweater was JUST RIGHT because the bear kept my favorite Kuhl sweater.
... I wished you still made black, but I'll try a new color before fall! Thanks for making great gear. Kuhl has become my favorite brand. You are doing some really stand-out, out of the box styles. very refreshing!
